  1. omg Belinda! I had such a crush when I was younger, loved her first songs and the one with Andy y Lucas šŸ˜ƒ
  2. I donā€™t know if it is because my musical taste already became too Dutchy or itā€™s just a bad year but I canā€™t find any Portuguese song I actually like from last year. There are some nice ones but itā€™s mostly due to lyrics so I donā€™t think theyā€™re worth sharing. So Iā€™ve decided to do something that might be unique (maybe?) which is send a music where the author is not alive anymore. This is a song from Sara Carreira, who actually participated in a TISC some years ago, but that died in 2020 in a car crash with only 21 years old. This song was composed originally by her but was never released while she was alive, until this last year, where some parts that were not finished yet were added by three other singers: her two oldest brothers and her dad. I choose this song as it is sad and beautiful at the same time.
  3. Btw for those who donā€™t know, this is from a really nice (to me at least haha) Spanish song from los del rio, the macarena guys
  4. ā€œSevilla tiene un color especial!ā€ por supuesto Portugal is in šŸ‡µšŸ‡¹ Spain is probably the nation Iā€™ve visited the most during my life (have family there and spent all my summers there during my childhood and teenage years) so I canā€™t wait to ā€œvisitā€ it yet another time as for the contest itā€™s always a bit difficult for me the anual edition (due to not be living in Portugal for 6 years now) but Iā€™ll find something out Iā€™m sure
  5. I think is impressive how Portugal managed to do such a good World Cup, especially when you know how ā€œfootball onlyā€ the country is, really happy for those guys! And if you donā€™t believe me when I talk about the unfairness of treatment of other sports, even when they do an amazing tournament like this one, just try to find out yesterdays match news on the front page of our daily sports newspaperā€¦.
  6. Roberto Martinez was officially announced as the next national manager of Portugal. Its the third time a foreigner becomes head coach of Portugal, but the other two were Brazilians, this time is a Spanish, which is not as easy to accept to Portuguese (ā€œDe Espanha, nem bom vento nem bom casamentoā€ itā€™s a Portuguese saying that means ā€œFrom Spain, neither comes good wind or a good marriageā€, due to the historically multiple tentatives for annexing Portugal) Some say it might be also a move for the World Cup organization (Portugal + Spain are one of the candidates). Anyway, bienvenido Martinez!
  7. @catgamer Fun fact: the German song from this years contest is part of the annual Top 2000 made in the Netherlands (a Christmas tradition in NL, people vote on a bunch of songs and the Top 2000 are played from 2000 to 1 since 25 December until midnight of 31st December in the radio). It got placed at 237 position (in 2000), so not bad! P.S - The number one this year (as it is almost every year) was Bohemian Rapsodhy. Hereā€™s the first 10 from this yearā€™s contest:
  8. I think everyone understood that was the meaning of mbappe. And even today it makes sense I mean for two times Argentina was winning 2-0 and instead of playing it in a defensive way they kept attacking and ended up suffering 2 goals. I believe if it would be an European team they would park the bus the moment they would reach 2-0 in a final match with a team like France
  9. Hereā€™s a joke from a Portuguese who still loves Ronaldo as the best but who enjoys good football and funny memes hehe
  10. I still find it a bit of ā€œsmall teamā€ style to celebrate the defeat of others instead of the winning (specially being the most important trophy of football), but again, if you win such a trophy (and specially if you normally play in clubs that donā€™t win nothing) you are allowed to celebrate the way you like, no matter how jerk can it look. Those guys should get some kind of statues for bringing so much happiness to that many people
  11. meh let him be jerk at will, he plays for Aston Villa this is the only time he gets to celebrate things. Plus I actually think thereā€™s a love story behind this, only explanation for such obsession with Mbappe hehe
  12. This make sense, those guys were supporting every team since the beginning haha
  13. So after so many years, and after the miracle of 2016 Euro Championship, our coach, Mr Engineer (or ā€œthe engineer of drawsā€ as we call him) is leaving Portuguese national team. Mourinho is now the one whoā€™s the favorite to succeed him. Meanwhile, as the info spread around the country, this is how Portuguese reached on Fernando Santos departure
  14. Mbappe, what a football player, so said heā€™s stuck in the French league heā€™s amazing
  15. All this amazing tournament gets sadder when you think this is the last time youā€™re seeing the greatest football players from the past 15 years or so at their last time in a World Cup
  16. There is no quota in pt obviously, and I remember when the first black players started to appear in the national team, I think in early 2000s, many people got racist about it, as in ā€œwhat is this team? Angola or Cape Verde?ā€ which I always found ironic because before Ronaldo our most iconic football player is someone black that was not even from Portugal (Eusebio, from Mozambique, which was Portuguese at that time but letā€™s be real, it was a colony), and people loved (and love) him like a god (heā€™s buried in our ā€œheroes templeā€ in Lisbon together with kings and navigators). I think this is also because although we have a big black community, theyā€™re concentrated in suburbs of Lisbon alone mostly (in my home town actually) so the rest of the country still finds it difficult to see it as normal. but I have to recognize that nowadays is much better, there are still those racism dudes , but less than before, I think.
  17. As Portuguese who is aware of the reason why there are so many black people in Brasil , Iā€™m gonna slowly get out of the conversation
  18. This. I am very much used to it now and find it actually useful but using the famous "dutch directness" in Latin/Southern European countries is not recommended haha
  19. Donā€™t say this to a Dutch. They are now stocking in fireworks so in 31st December all cities are bombarded to what looks like hell on earth . Dont believe me? Check this.
  20. You donā€™t know him, but the guy who interviews him is the most annoying Portuguese sport reporter ever, no one can stand him and no one understands how he has his profession for so many years (I donā€™t know, 20 years maybe?). today before the match he just goes and say something like ā€œletā€™s do like our first king did and kick out the moorsā€ (Portugal, when it became independent from Spain, conquered our current territory from North African - moorish - people ) This is something I expect to hear in a football bar from some drunk/unhappy supporter, not from a reporter on national tvā€¦.
