  1. The group with has not been decided yet. That will be exciting tomorrow with - and then - . All three countries need to win to be sure of the 1/4 finals.
  2. Stolz just casually skating a sub 1:07 on the 1.000m at age 17 The previous junior world record was 1:07.76 skated by Koki Kubo. This makes Stolz one of the contenders for an Olympic medal.
  3. It's very likely she will. However, if there's a skater who might get lapped if it will be a fast race, then I would bet my money on her. In that case, she would be disqualified.
  4. Women's 1.500m quota so far as the top 20 in the ranking is fixed: x2 x3 x1 x1 x3 x2 x3 x1 x1 x2 x1 The 10 quota based on time will be final after the B-Group later tonight.
  5. Men's quota on the 500m: x1 x2 x2 x1 x1 x2 x2 x3 x1 x2 x3 x2 x3 x3 x2 Reserves: Estonia now the 26th country with a secured quota.
  6. It's very unlikely will qualify a team pursuit team on points, unless they finish and one of the following teams does not finish or gets disqualified: They will most likely not qualify on time. It would be a very lucky qualification because they get a lot of points just by starting in the A group. They should have been demoted to the B group twice, had it not been for the disqualification of the Russian team during World Cup 1 (for a very stupid reason btw), or the fall of the Japanese team last week.
  7. Nooooo! He also got disqualified on Friday.
  8. Great news! Did not expect this anymore!
  9. MAX! Very weird finish though, after lap 53 I was 100% sure he wouldn't win anymore. Here there were also fireworks in my street
  10. Not taking the quotas into account for the distances that will be skated tonight, we have a total of 25 countries already secured of at least one quota: In 2018, 29 different countries competed. Differences so far: No participation in 2018, but quota secured for 2022: Participated in 2018, no quota secured for 2022 (yet): will send its first ever skater to the Olympics (women's 500m) and no skater from had qualified since 1992 and now they qualified both a male and female speed skater. Marten Liiv will almost certainly qualify tonight for both men's 500 and 1.000m, so Estonia will be the 26th country added to the list. Loubineaud is now 2nd reserve on the men's 5.000m, 3rd on the men's 10.000m and 4th on the men's mass start. No reasonable hope for any of the other countries to qualify. I'm most disappointed by . They also don't have any talents coming up in the junior circuit.
  11. Women's team pursuit quota, unless a miracle happens in the B-group:
  12. Final quota men's mass start: x1 x1 x2 x2 x1 x1 x1 x1 x2 x2 x2 x2 x2 x1 x2 Host quota: x1 Reserves: Rule D.2.6 of the qualification document may be applied: Additional competitors for the Mass Start event, up to a maximum of 30 competitors, may be entered during Games time. Additional starting positions will then be made available to athletes who have been entered and participated in at least one (1) distance/event. The allocation of these additional starting positions will be done according to the Reserve list for the Mass Start event (as per D.2.5), with priority to NOCs without an already entered athlete in the Mass Start event However, the Belarussian guy has not qualified for any individual distance and have 0 quota on individual distances. So this rule may only be applied to Peter Michael who JUST missed out on a qualifying spot on the 5k and might fall out of the qualification spots after the B-group 1.500m later tonight.
  13. Hoolwerf He got a lot of criticism, because he was 24th in the World Cup ranking on the mass start after 2/3 competitions. If he wouldn't be in the top 24 after the final competition today, the Netherlands would lose their maximum number of quota for men of 9. Got the pressure of a whole speed skating loving nation on his back and now he wins the final race!
  14. Women's 1.000m quota for now. The top 20 of the Olympic qualification ranking is fixed. 10 more skaters will be added after the B-Group has finished. Qualified based on ranking: x3 x1 x2 x1 x2 x3 x2 x3 x1 x2
  15. Roest finished 19th in the final ranking, which is enough, but still
  16. Yeah, it's sad. I like Silovs a lot. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Ning Zhongyan will kick Tai back to position 25. Ning decided to skip the 1.500m to focus on the mass start final.
  17. Men's 1.500m quota for now. The top 20 of the Olympic qualification ranking is fixed. 10 more skaters will be added after the B-Group has finished. Qualified based on ranking: x2 x2 x1 x3 x1 x1 x3 x3 x2 x2
  18. Yeah, really happy with being in. I saw it coming for a few years when her times became more and more competitive, but it was always going to be close. Sad about Peter Michael missing out, he's such a fun skater. Colombia has some talented juniors, for example the reigning national champion on the women's 500m and 1.000m is a 15-year-old and I wouldn't be surprised if Diego Amaya is going to win a medal during the Junior World Championships this year (if they won't be cancelled). He got a silver medal and two 4th places during the 2020 Youth Olympics. So let's hope for some Colombian skaters in Milan.
  19. Maybe my calculations are incorrect, but Roest and Blokhuijsen both not starting on the 1.500m may cost the Netherlands a quota on this distance. They're taking such a risk.
  20. Women's 500m quota if my calculations are correct: x3 x2 x3 x2 x3 x2 x2 x3 x2 Reserves: Brittany Bowe misses out on a quota for the USA by 2 points after skipping 3 races, and Sandrine Tas gets surpassed in the final race of the season and is now first reserve.
  21. Not 100% true, all points are doubled during the World Cup Final, so in theory even #11 in the standings Marwin Talsma could still win if all the entire top 10 ends their seasons after the Olympics.
  22. Men's 5.000m provisional quota list before the B-Group has been skated: 100% certain if my calculations are correct: x3 x3 x3 Qualified on time for now, but can all change once the B-Group has skated: Casey Dawson - 6:10.803 Livio Wenger - 6:12.132 Ethan Cepuran 6:12.378 Felix Rijhnen 6:15.069 Sverre Lunde Pedersen 6:15.116 Hallgeir Engebråten 6:15.130 Men's 10.000m final quota based on my calculations: Qualified based on ranking: x2 Qualified based on time: Reserves (in order): Shen Hanyang misses out on a host quota by 0.7 seconds on a 10.000m
  23. Deadline is December 24th. Don't think they'll publish them before that date, but maybe there will be a positive surprise.
  24. Final provisional list will be published by the ISU around Christmas.
  25. Women's 5.000m final quota (of couse my calculations, so there could be errors): Top 8 in combined 3.000m/5.000m World Cup standings (max 2 per country): 4 skaters qualified based on time: Reserves (in order):
