  1. had priority over on the men’s 1.000m. Could it be that the maximum number of quota was reached and that was the first one missing out, whereas can enter an athlete that already had a quota on another distance?
  2. As a result: , & are now definitely in. Sandrine Tas had one quota (mass start) and how has four (500m, 1.000m, 1.500m and mass start) could have had 3 quotas on the women's side, but only decided to keep the 1 quota they already had on the mass start. could have 3 quota on the men's 1.000m, but now only have 1. refusing the quota on the men's 1.000m means they will have no male skaters in Beijing. In total there are 27 countries with at least one confirmed quota (2018: 29 countries).
  3. Some reallocations took place. It also seems as if the provisional quota file was incorrect/incomplete as the number of quota per distances was mostly lower than the actual event quota according to the original qualification document. For example, the provisional quota list had 27 entry quota's on the women's 500m, even though the qualification document stated that the maximum number of skaters on the women's 500m would be 30. As a result, a lot of reserves have been added. Distance In Out Refusing additional quota Women's 500m took over the refused quota from Germany, are all in to get the event quota to 30. refused 1 quota refused 1 quota Women's 1.000m are all in to get the event quota to 30. n/a refused 1 quota Women's 1.500m are all in to get the event quota to 30. n/a refused 1 quota Women's 3.000m both in to get the event quota to 20. n/a n/a Women's 5.000m n/a n/a n/a Women's Mass Start n/a n/a n/a Women's Team Pursuit n/a n/a n/a Men's 500m are all in to get the event quota to 30. n/a refused 1 quota Men's 1.000m took over the refused quota from Germany, to get the event quota to 30. refused 1 quota refused 1 quota, refused 1 quota Men's 1.500m & took over the refused quota from Germany, took over the refused quota from Japan, are all in to get the event quota to 30. refused 2 quotas refused 1 quota n/a Men's 5.000m in to get the event quota to 20 n/a n/a Men's 10.000m n/a n/a n/a Men's Mass Start n/a n/a n/a Men's Team Pursuit n/a n/a n/a

  5. Yeah. still won against though. Didn’t watch the match. Maybe their team was also severely impacted by COVID.
  6. Our first, second and third keeper tested positive for COVID as well as our head coach and four field players
  7. The freestyle skier Isabelle Hanssen filed a lawsuit against the Dutch Ski Federation to enforce her right to go to Beijing to participate in the Olympic Games.
  8. Hahahaha, most definitely! I'll ask the Dutch NOC to send her the itinerary.
  9. had a quota in women's singles?!
  10. Now the main round. Four more matches for the Dutch team against The only realistic hope for a win is maybe against
  11. Team NL 41 atheletes (20 women - 21 men) 2x Alpine skiing (1 woman - 1 man): Adriana Jelinkova (slalom & giant slalom) Maarten Meiners (giant slalom) 5x Bobsleigh (1 woman - 4 men): Karlien Sleper (monobob) 4-men team 2-men team 1x Figure skating (1 woman): Lindsay van Zundert (vrouwen, single event) 18x Speed skating (9 women - 9 men): Femke Kok (500m) Jutta Leerdam (500m, 1.000m) Michelle de Jong (500m) Antoinette de Jong (1.000m, 1.500m, 3.000m, team pursuit) Ireen Wüst (1.000m, 1.500m, team pursuit) Marijke Groenewoud (1.500m, mass start) Irene Schouten (3.000m, 5.000m, mass start, team pursuit) Carlijn Achtereekte (3.000m) Sanne in ’t Hof (5.000m) Merijn Scheperkamp (500m) Kai Verbij (500m, 1.000m) Thomas Krol (500m, 1.000m, 1.500m) Hein Otterspeer (1.000m) Kjeld Nuis (1.500m) Marcel Bosker (1.500m, team pursuit) Patrick Roest (5.000m, 10.000m, team pursuit) Jorrit Bergsma (5.000m, 10.000m, mass start) Sven Kramer (5.000m, mass start, team pursuit) 10x Shorttrack (5 women - 5 men): Selma Poutsma (500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay) Suzanne Schulting (500m, 1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay) Xandra Velzeboer (500m, 1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay) Rianne de Vries (relay) Yara van Kerkhof (relay) Dylan Hoogerwerf (500 meter & relay) Itzhak de Laat (500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay) Sjinkie Knegt (1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay) Sven Roes (1500m & relay) Jens van ’t Wout (500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay) 1x Skeleton (1 woman): Kimberley Bos 4x Snowboard (2 women - 2 men): Glenn de Blois (cross) Michelle Dekker (parallel giant slalom) Melissa Peperkamp (big air & slopestyle) Niek van der Velden (big air & slopestyle)
  12. Three very intense matches, but is through to the main round for the first time in history!
  13. There’s nothing in the news or on the website of the Dutch Ski Federation about this, so I think it’s a mistake on the website of the FIS.
  14. Why does the quota list say that accepted a quota in women's halfpipe? That can't be right. It would be amazing though. She met the international criteria for Sochi, Pyongchang and now Beijing, but she has never been to the Olympics.
  15. I'm as shocked as everyone else here, haha Dutch news reports that both the 4-man and 2-man team are allowed to start though.
  16. They changed their mind. Based on her quarter final result in the final World Cup, the Dutch NOC has come to the conclusion that her form is growing and that she has good chances to compete in the final rounds of the competition. So she can go to Beijing.
  17. Team Women Suzanne Schulting: 500m, 1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay Xandra Velzeboer: 500m, 1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay Selma Poutsma: 500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay Yara van Kerkhof: relay Rianne de Vries: relay Who out of Poutsma, Van Kerkhof and De Vries will skate the 1.500m will be decided later. Men Itzhak de Laat: 500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay Sjinkie Knegt: 1000m, 1500m, relay & mixed relay Jens van ’t Wout: 500m, 1000m, relay & mixed relay Sven Roes: 1500m & relay Dylan Hoogerwerf: 500m & relay
  18. At the time, the Dutch NOC hadn't published their internal selection criteria yet. Because of these ridiculously difficult national standards, there were still some doubts about whether or not the top 16 would enough to be qualified for the Olympics. Eventually they decided that a top 16 finish was just enough. Another way for Lindsay to qualify was to score at least 186 points twice during the qualification period, which was the period between the World Championships at the end of March 2021 until the end of 2021. That score would be enough to finish top 9 at the European Championships last week or 12th at the latest World Championships.
  19. Our first figure skater at the Olympics in decades. She finished 16th at the last World Championships, just enough to meet the Dutch and international selection criteria.
  20. close to at least a tie against after the win against Still a 29-28 loss isn’t that bad for this team.
  21. Ah yeah, I don't watch aerials. Makes sense. Thank you! Okay, for now I'll stick with my vote for as it's a jury sport in China with Chinese medal favorites.
  22. I'm curious since only 3 of the 10 people voted so far (incl. myself) have picked In what event will win a medal?
  23. None of these countries have a lot of medal chances, but most have some: Not really familiar with the sports that the Australians are best at, but I'd say a medal in women's moguls, men's snowboard halfpipe or snowboard cross are realistic possibilities? Maybe one or more biathlon medals? Biathlon is very hard to predict with surprises in each competition, but I see a chance there. I don't ever watch sports like aerials outside of the Olympics so maybe they have potential there this time around, but maybe? Bart Swings on the men's mass start in speed skating is their best shot I would say. Again, that distance is always quite a lottery but he has just won a European title and skated some personal bests on other distances this season, so he's in good shape. I would say 1 medal for Belgium. Charlotte Bankes in snowboard cross has good chances. Should definitely get at least one medal in men's shorttrack. Not many medal chances, but doubles in luge? Women's slopestyle? Women's 500m in speed skating, women's 500m in short track speed skating or a surprise medal in men's ski jumping? All very unpredictable events though. Snowboarding: women's halfpipe or men's boarder cross? I can't see where , and could win a medal. So I voted for these three.
  24. Yeah She should’ve finished top 10 in the Olympic qualification ranking OR meet the international standards while finishing top 4 once or top 8 twice during the World Cup season. Before today she hadn’t finished top 8 this season.
  25. will most likely reject their quota for the women's parallel giant slalom. She should've made the semi-finals today to meet the Dutch qualification criteria, but she lost in the quarter finals.
