  1. Valentina Margaglio's 4th place today will give her a spot in the Olympics at now? This is important for us, because we'll then be able to field 2 mixed doubles teams, than 1.
  2. This sport is truly becoming a circus... There are far more serious injuries than 20-30 years ago, when medical science was at a much lower level. Maybe the FIS should do anything about this problem instead of inventing some new competition in cross-country skiing or ski jumping? In my opinion, the problem is with the current skis or the snow they are currently skiing, but I would lean more I think about skis, because injuries are even more often in training than in official competitions.
  3. That 6-place quota for men would significantly help us in the men's relay, although I don't believe we'll win a medal. We're simply weaker than Sweden, France and the USA, not to mention Norway. To win a medal, each of our 4 skiers: Pellegrino, Barp, Carollo and Graz, would have to be in their peak form on that day and one of our rivals, like France or USA would have to have a bad day. Considering that four Italian`s guys and their instability and young age (with the exception of Pellegrino), our chances are very small: also the 5-th and 6-th skiers is a much weaker, than that 4.
  4. She's already achieved top-10 in several competitions on single rounds, so it's no a huge surprise. Canada and China are showing that success in women's ski jumping is possible even without a tradition in the sport. It's just a shame Italy can't do something similar – we have quite a strong tradition in women's ski jumping – we even had a World Championship medal in 2011. But this is yet another winter discipline that demonstrates that hosting home games literally benefits nothing fot Italy and this is unfortunately due to our incompetence. I would also understand someone specializing, like the Netherlands and simply abandoning most snow sports: cross- country, ski- jumping, alpine skiing, etc., but not this shit, what we do now: look at ski jumping, cross-country skiing and nordic combined. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=JP&competitorid=97562&raceid=3048
  5. It's a shame Pellegrino wasn't in the top 3... Davide Graz's form is hard to explain – he's probably sick again, but is it normal for a professional athlete to be constantly sick? After Markus Cramer's 4 years in office, only Caterina Ganz remains at a decent-good level. The rest are even worse than they were at this time in 2022. I can't rate this job positively in anyway.
  6. What are the chances that Italy will get a 6th quotas in the men? When will this be know at 100%?
  8. Francesca Franchi - 6th place at the 2023 World Championships in the 10km free... Today: 69... Now that's what I write a waste of talent... With a good system, she should be fighting today for podium places with Diggins and the Swedes. The same will happen with Gismondi soon... Why do we need the games at home if we can't prepare a solid team, when we have the good girl to work with them? https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/athlete-biography.html?sectorcode=CC&seasoncode=2023&competitorid=198357&type=result&categorycode=WSC&sort=&place=&disciplinecode=&position=&limit=100
  9. That's true, but if Ganz had at least performed at a solid level, she could have stood on the podium today, as her run was the fastest. As you can see, we can't even capitalize on such opportunities, and we've been waiting for a podium finish in the World Cup since 2011 and Arianna Follis times. And we'll wait another 15 years, because I don't see any progress and even if someone like Franchi or Gismondi does show up for moment, they quickly disappear due to injury or illness.
  10. The all of Italian women's team is Ganz, who hasn't made any progress for years. We have the Olympics at home and we lose in Toblach to skiers from Poland, Canada, France and even a 21-year-old girl from AIN. Such results are scandalous and simply a waste of money. This entire team should be disbanded if this shit will continues.
  11. Fede or Orro? https://www.instagram.com/p/DS5KWLIDMGh/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=invalid&img_index=2
  12. And Ghiotto-van der Poel? They 2 only counted for the same distances.
  13. For today, who would rank higher? Ghiotto or Fabris? 2 Olympic golds or 3 World Championship 10km golds?
  14. For me Beune is much looking better, than Leerdam...
  15. But later he never won an Olympic/World Championship gold medal after that. The 2010 Vancouver Olympics were a complete failure, and he soon retired.
  16. It looks like Conijn is safe for gold in the 5km for today? Only Wiklund can challenge her, but she's not as dominant as Sablikova once was, so the Netherlands got it right here.
  17. Goggia and Vonn are also having big problems on the flat sectors of track in this season: Goggia lost almost 1 second to Puchner in St. Moritz after 30 seconds of skies... For the past 2-3 years, Goggia has unfortunately not been the dominant skier, when she was in 2021 and 2022. Unfortunately, injuries have probably done a lot of damage
  18. He had a very good season after Turin: he finished second in the World Cup standings in the 1500 meters, behind Wennemars, and in the 5 km, he was mostly beaten only by Kramer. Perhaps an injury slowed him down, but I don't remember, because social media didn't exist back then, and speed skating in the ITA was as popular as field hockey, or even less so :P Italy is a sad country - you're a hero at the Olympics at home, but just 1 years later no one cares about you, because the main news of the day is some nonsense about footballers, their girlfriends/lovers, etc. It's good that now at least Sinner has made his mark and covered up this football bullshit...
  19. Keita probably will play in OH, and Romano: https://www.instagram.com/p/DSYFxsPkbvu/
  20. L'hanno eletto di recente? È una cosa improvvisa? Quando verrà eletto il nuovo presidente? https://www.oasport.it/2025/12/lutto-per-lo-sport-italiano-addio-a-davide-tizzano-due-volte-oro-olimpico-e-presidente-della-federcanottaggio/
  21. https://www.oasport.it/2025/12/foto-federica-brignone-lallenamento-di-oggi-a-valgrisenche/
  22. After 2006, Fabris was never as so good again... But Fabris also never had such successes outside the 2006 Olympics than the current Ghiotto...
  23. 2021 was a different Fede than in 2025... The question is, what kind of Fede will she be like now after such a long return?
