    I will be happy with 10 gold medals for us. Comparing with Tokyo is a little wrong, because then we won 5 gold in athletics - 2nd week of competition. Now this result is impossible to repeat.

    Fine. Abbiamo troppi 4° e 5° posti, troppo poche certezze per le oro prima della partenza, che deludono. L'argento nel fioretto in questo campo è un fallimento. Il posto peggiore possibile. È chiaro che la scuola americana di fioretto attualmente è migliore e Cerioni non può cambiarla.

    È un bene che Bellandi e de Gennaro abbiano vinto l'oro, altrimenti sarebbe stato duro. Dopo la gara individuale prevedevo problemi con gli USA. Gli USA hanno una grande stella: Kiefer + gli altri sono più in forma di noi. Cerioni mi ha deluso moltissimo.

    Our foil fencers are out of shape here. No individual medal, now a defeat in the final. A low win against Japan in 1/2. Too bad. If we win some unexpected gold, then in a moment one of our sure bets will fail, of which we don't have many. So far only Ceccon has fulfilled the role of favorite. Overall, fencing is in big minus, apart from one gold in epee. You can't have a good Olympics in the top 7-8 in the medal table if you only have 2-3 sure-fire gold medalists, and 1 of them fails.

    Bellandi can't compete with Wagner, who fortunately lost to the Israelian girl in 1/2. In any case, 1 medal - even gold is a big disappointment for us considering 3x 5th places.

    Paolini gioca praticamente ininterrottamente da giugno, sia nel singolare che nel doppio. È simile qui. Penso che sia meglio che le rimanga solo il doppio con Errani, perché lì anche l'oro è una possibilità. Nella partita contro la slovacca la stanchezza è stata la ragione per cui Jasmine ha giocato così male.

    Exactly. Olympic boxing with this judging is a farce and every serious country should stop financing this circus. You spend money and then lose to someone in the 1st round, who knows why or you will be forced to fight a man who was supposedly raised to be a woman. Btw., and if he told me as a child that I was the King of England, that means that I would actually be the King :P

    Inizio terribile, ma ora 2 ori. Ora prendere 3 nel fioretto donne. Inoltre Musetti in semifinale nel tennis maschile. Peccato che la semifinale non dia più il bronzo.

    I recently read that in the USA a some man wanted to enter the women's locker room at a swimming pool because he claimed to be a woman :P Maybe it's a similar case :P It's a shame Paltrinieri didn't sign up for the 1500 women competition yesterday, because he probably would have won against Ledecky. He should have just said that he woke up in the morning and felt that he was a woman :P

    In my opinion he should have focused on the 100 and 200 backstroke and that was 2 years ago. The 200 backstroke is at a relatively low level compared to the 100 freestyle. If he trained only for the backstroke from 2022 he could have easily won 2 individual medals there.

    I was disappointed today by Ceccon in the 200. I was counting on him to fight for a medal and with no American in the final, he should have done so. It looks like he didn't prepare for this distance at all.

    Semplicemente non possiamo migliorare il risultato di Tokyo nel numero di medaglie, perché praticamente in ogni disciplina abbiamo meno o al massimo lo stesso numero di medaglie + judo e boxe hanno completamente fallito. Non ci sono discipline in cui possiamo rimediare. Nell'atletica bisognerebbe vincere 10 medaglie + 3 medaglie negli sport di squadra (a Tokyo erano 0) per sognare qualcosa.

    Mi rende triste vedere un Marchand vincere 4 medaglie d'oro per la Francia, che è più di Paltrinieri, Pellegrini e Ceccon messi insieme in tutta la loro carriera.

    In ogni caso adesso mi accontenterò di 30 medaglie e 7-8 ori. Questo è il nostro livello. Tokyo era un'anomalia. Per ripetere bisognerebbe investire tanto quanto la Francia. Nonostante tutto, li invidio per avere un Marchand così, perché non si può programmare.
