Pasolini got a reaction from Topicmaster1010 in Skateboarding Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
As @Larajasaid he would get both quotas.
But World Skateboarding does not have any prevision for what would happen with the "missing" quota. USA could not take another skater as they would have 3 on park and 3 on street.
But could we have 23 athletes on street so Skateboarding would have 88 athletes in total? it is possible.

Hey @vinipereirahere are my votes.
Thank you so much for the extension!
Should I also send you by DM?
I'm surprised I'm the first person to mention skateboarding? It is curious because I wanted to include some of them on "Breakthrough" but as they had less than 18 years I had to somehow nudge them all on the youth!

Pasolini got a reaction from Benolympique in Equestrian Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
I've heard from the Brazilian Federation that the Brazilians will not compete in Europe anymore this year, so for Brazil the road is over.
One of the main sport journalists ran this story today
But I would love to know about other countries as well.

Pasolini reacted to phelps in Fencing FIE World Cup 2023 - 2024
world and continental champs scores are mandatory, they can't be discarded
they look at the discarded result and at the best single placing among the qualifying tournaments, but right now I don't remember in which order

Russia is still in murky standing with WADA, which might explain why events aren't being "green-lighted" by World Aquatics.

Pasolini reacted to Biathlonfan in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
This was way back, but i about died laughing hearing an African Olympic committee president tell ours that the baltics are the ones causing all the drama and should be thrown out of the olympics, europeans have this thing where everyone is supposed to have their position on everything and it's funny in cases like this when it gets shut down.Anyway point is your right,Africa,Asia litereally don't give a fuck, honestly, these european countries sense of self importance is just sad
-
Pasolini reacted to phelps in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
well, that's another story
Old Italian IOC Member Franco Carraro said that most likely there won't be any high ranking official to the Opening Ceremony because they (and also the organizers, even if they will never admit that) are afraid of a possible terrorist attack by the Islamic supporters related to the vs Hamas (& friends) current situation
the only people outside and still talking of that conflict are those idiots running the EU, nobody else cares about that anymore
-
Pasolini reacted to Biathlonfan in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
Is this supposed to be news ? They can do as they please, but i hope they won't be surprised when no one ends up following them and everyone makes excuses as to why they didn't.I don't really understand all this ''may'',may not crap,if your that outraged than just say you won't be there and get it over with, far as i seen even in the Ukraine position among athletes isn't unanonious on this,so this just feels like screaming into the wind
-
Pasolini got a reaction from Benolympique in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
All individuals.
From my understanding of what is not fully written:
Russian and Belarus athletes can not form pairs (as in tennis doubles, etc).
And they will get invitations to sports in which the qualification is already finished or has sidelined them (gymnastics comes first in my mind, but boxing etc).
Would be more intersting if they could still attend olympic qualifiers (as in boxing, or gymnastics world cup) instead of gaining straight quota.
-
Pasolini got a reaction from LuizGuilherme in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
I truly don't understand how they are so enraged by Russian / Belarussian participation and don't condemn other "agressor" countries with "blood on their hands".
And I love how people just throw the card "IOC does not know what Olympism is all about", as some say that the Pope is not a "real catholic" and so on.
One can just point out how Olympism has its flaws as a philiopshy without point out how it just knows all about it.
-
Pasolini reacted to phelps in Russia-Ukraine Crisis Consequences in Sports
spoiler, and athletes have alredy faced athletes in Wrestling and Judo this year...and nothing really unfair happened both on and off the mat
the only shameful episode was the Kharlan case at the Fencing Worlds last Summer...and it was just a political farce fixed in a couple of days after the social media shitstorm that hit FIE for being senselessly pro-Russian, nothing remarkable actually happened on the piste

Pasolini reacted to MHSN in Taekwondo Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
if I remember correctly last time in 2020 WT never published any specific list for qualified athletes. they just published their ranking in early days of January like any other month. so I expect the same this time but you never know. maybe they do a better job this time
and yes quotas are 100% confirmed only when they publish the next ranking but I'm 99% sure what I wrote earlier is correct unless they change some scores from past tournaments. (highly unlikely but not impossible)
