    Totally unrelated but made me think of thr Irish women's bobsled team at Vancouver 2010, who were awarded an extra quota to compete. So there is some past precedence in other sports

    Its the timing apparently but both sports competed around the same time in Buenos Aires.

    Canada will not be competing in athletics and swimming.

    Starting this to let everyone know Canada will not sending anyone in athletics (Of note, Canada has never won a Youth Olympic medal in the sport) Also Canada wont send any swimmers.

    And countries currently in reserve positions and have an outside chance of entering the table of qualified:

    Canada will compete in all sports except Netball. Swimming - 12 athletes have been named already to the team Cycling - 10 quotas (5 per gender). 3 will be selected per gender in sprint events and 2 in endurance. All other sports are pending. Some have qualification systems such as 3x3 basketball (we should qualify a full team) and Weightlifting (Maude Charron and Braydon Kennedy are already qualified).
