  1. Wyatt Lee with a new Canadian U18 NR of 10.38 in the men’s 100m at the OFSAA Championships!
  2. Women’s U20 team defeats United States for the first time since 2008 to advance to the final of the CONCACAF U20 Women’s Championship!
  3. Significantly less than usual lately, feeling a lot of sports fatigue (even though I love watching it anyways) No US Swim Championships (isn’t streaming for Canadians) or other VNL matches (can’t find the vk/Bibilli sites I streamed the non-Canadian matches on before) Might also watch men’s VNL, but our roster is so pathetic. Today (June 6) 5:00 PM: NHL SCF Game 2 - Panthers v. Oilers Saturday (June 7) 6:00 AM: RG Women’s Final - Gauff v. Sabalenka 1:00 PM: Women’s VNL - Canada v. 5. Having had some time to reflect from that… one of our worst VNL showings in a while, there’s a lot of things that went wrong. - Serve receive was abhorrent, which led to a lot of out of system swings from the outside (barely any points scored from the middle) - Struggled a lot with short balls and and they almost always led to kills - Got cooked by the Netherlands in blocks, but barely any of them were stuff blocks. - 6-9 disadvantage from the service line, but the Netherlands were getting some of the luckiest aces. And on top of that we let Vos and Van De Vosse score 20 and 14. WTF? On the positive side, Mitrovic had a much better game and Guenzen made a positive impact but other than that.. (Van Ryk was meh, but she can’t do it all)
  6. @hoversaBR I noticed Gabi isn’t playing, is she injured?
  7. This’ll be a long VNL
  8. was always going to be a tossup and are 9-23 since 2023 I’d say were the favourites (especially with Herbots back)
  9. Canada open Women’s VNL with a win, defeating Bulgaria in 5! Just an FYI for anyone wondering, the commentators mentioned on the stream that Gray is taking a break for the summer, she’s thankfully not injured.
  10. avoid disaster from 2-0 up and win their opening match over at VNL, finishing it off with a 15-4 drubbing in the 5th set Johnson with 8 points during that 5th set, she had a rocket of an arm and was just unstoppable. Don’t believe she made a single error either. Van Ryk doing her job in the absence of Gray with 26 points Thokbuom with a debut to remember, incredibly impressed with her performance today. Definitely will be keeping an eye on her in the future.
  11. I think that’s Sclater in the crowd I’ve missed that guy, can’t wait to see him playing NT volleyball again soon
  12. Commentators mentioned Alexa Gray is resting this summer, not injured. Phew.
  13. Played much better at the end, but generally a really sloppy set for - going 5.
  14. 11-2 … Their serves aren’t even that good
  15. Boisson through to the semifinals, just wow
  16. It’s time for the start of VNL
  17. Sander Skotheim with 8,909 points in the men’s event, moves to #7 on the world all-time list. These Norwegian decathletes are really something, first Rooth won gold at the Olympics last year and now this
  18. 8527 points for Damian Warner at the Hypomeeting Gotzis. Decent, but as a supposed medal contender it’s a bit disappointing. Pierce LePage with a DNF in his first meet back from injury.
  19. Anna Hall goes #2 on the all-time heptathlon list with 7,032 points in Gotzis! 1.95m in the high jump, 13.19 in the 100m hurdles, and 2:01.23 in the 800m are just insane
  20. I’m sorry but I can’t really take Church seriously… not only because of his last name, but he looks like he’s 50
  21. 77.93m for Camryn Rogers in women’s hammer throw, a little over half a meter under her PB (kind of surprising that she hasn’t gone above 78.62m)
  22. 1:43.38 SB for Marco Arop in the men’s 800m at Philadelphia GST!
  23. Quarterfinal finish after quarterfinal finish, when will it end?
  24. Honestly, even though Mel/Brandie had 2 SP’s of their own in that set, good on them for coming back from down 0-6 and saving multiple SP’s (OK, a lot of them were from missed/into the net serves but still)
