I liked the women's keirin final and Leitaos performance in the omnium (which was obviously pushed to the background because of the farce that was the points race that evening)

We still have lead to go. 

What was the initial format again? Scratch, Flying Lap, Elim race, KM TT, something individual pursuit-like and Points Race, right?
 
I don't mind the Points Race format in itself, it makes for a more exciting finish, but now we have four very similar races (only Elim race is kinda different), which is not great. I'd rather have one of the TT's back but they are not really exciting for the crowd.

The madison is just too chaotic for my liking. Time for a clearcut event where 2 big muscular men ride three laps and Lavreysen crosses the finish line first.

I must say Women football has really developed in this competition, there are no punch bags anymore apart from Vietnam , Zambia and Costa Rica , all other teams have left a mark , still we see some silly goals like in SA vs Italy or Spain vs Switzerland , but things are getting better , development of European Teams improved quality of Football in Europe and Africa as well 

The graphics is a mess during this points race! 

Formula one isn’t Olympic and everybody and their mom is going crazy about it when Verstappen even does anything these days back here.
 
obviously F1 is much bigger than compound archery. But it is a world title in a pretty serious, proper sport no less.

Marcus was the current silver medalist, leader of the world ranking and had won a stage of the World Cup that year. For me, he is among the medalists was fully "expected".

No quota this tournament. A bit lackluster, but you always really knew it could happen. Really hope they will make it somewhere else, it's just great to be able to watch this on the big screen at the games.

Speaking of van der Poel, will he try qualifying for MTB again? And what's the plan to manage this? Or is there no actual (known) plan right now?

I rather would have a double 6-0 over a defeat with the smallest margin in the set twice, with a total of three arrows just on the line. The only other real chance will be the universal olympic qualifier (I don't see them hold off both GB and Italy at the continental), but some luck is necessary there. At least there is one more spot there 

Germany takes the gold, and rightfully so.
