Yeah, Polish commentators also said he was going for a two-stone risk instead of trying to steal the extra end. I have no clue if that was norm for this team or not

It was the right call, having to steal in an extra against Edin is… not a good situation.

Looking back on it, they suckered themselves into playing an unnatural game for them.  They usually like messy ends, lots of stones in play, sending down the big howitzers, making the audacious take-outs etc.  They just lost concentration after having to play the rinky-dink stuff end after end.
