  1. That’s a stream my friend.
  2. Though the Mississippi River goes through a lot more than Mississippi . It starts up in Minnesota and works it’s way down to the Gulf of Mexico.
  3. Yeah, rivers are definitely my weakest point of geographic knowledge. I’ve just never been that interested in them (except for fishing of course).
  4. How’d you know what I choose. Also, fuck the Danube River. It killed me at the State Geography Bee, and now it killed me here. It’s officially my least favorite place in the world.
  5. Right, of course that’s what I thought of after the question. Apparently two host cities (of the Winter YOG) sit on the Inn River, so that’s what threw me off. Still 4th out of hundreds of Olympic fans, and a 9/10 on the day isn’t terrible.
  6. Damn, 9/10 today. I really should have thought out that river question. I didn’t know there was such a thing as the Inn River. Oh well, I take 4th. A respectable result, but I threw away a podium finish but forgetting that quiz the other day.
  7. Yeah it’s not atypical for IMSA drivers (especially the really experienced ones) to field more than one entry. I believe someone raced in all 4 classes a few years ago. I’ve definitely seen people race in 3 separate cars before too.
  8. Really happy for her . Her family is nice and dedicated. I can already hear her mom losing her shit
  9. What’s sad is that the IOC/FIS are still giving this event 32 quotas. Snowboard could have used a few quotas from here.
  10. 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend. Smaller field than last year . Glad to see the return of competitive LMP2 racing to the US. Quite a few big names racing on Saturday and Sunday. I always find this an enjoyable race, so I might follow it a bit. Its also one of the “big” three or endurance racing (Daytona, Sebring, LeMans) Here’s the spotters guide with entry list: http://www.spotterguides.com/portfolio/20_imsa/
  11. Cmon’ Bernie Notable gains from Yang and Bloomberg. I’ve been saying for a while that support for them is growing. If Biden wins the primary, Sanders should make Yang/Bloomberg his VP and run on an independent ticket.
  12. Interesting, I checked but never saw anything. It took Rio like 3 months. Well, if you happen to hear/see something about that please tell me. I want one of those sweet rugby balls.
  13. Apparently there’s another live trivia game tomorrow @Vojthas @Wumo @Griff88 @Dunadan
  14. I know after most major events like this, there’s generally an opportunity to buy game-used equipment and other items from the games. Does anybody know if Lima is doing this? (Or already has).
  15. According to the IHF, this might be the senior world record for most goals scored in a match. It is not the best of all-time for an international match though, as beat 93-0 in a juniors match.
  16. I did it just for you. I’m dead serious
  17. Where’s our update @OlympicIRL?
  18. That will make for one very happy and surprised @Vektor
  19. BBC, Marca Claro, NBC, and CBC all broadcast a good amount of footage as well.
  20. It was bigger. More people seemed to know about the games. They were broadcast by major international channels. The concept seemed to be rock solid. There wasn’t any huge major controversy. The arenas were filled, and fans came out to the support athletes. There was more live coverage than before. There was more nations than before. Info/results were easy to find. Lausanne2020 did have a worse app though. Overall, the games felt bigger, and better than ever before.
  21. In a tragic incident, a Cal-Fire C130 Fire Tanker assisting the Aussies crashed today. There were 3 Californian firefighters onboard, and it doesn’t sound like there were survivors. No deaths have been confirmed, but it seems like the first responders community knows that the crew have died. It’s really a shame. First we lose some in our own fires last year, and now we lose more in Australia. Hopefully their efforts weren’t in vain, and the fires down there will be put out soon
  22. Yes, hats off to @Vojthas for putting this together on a whim, and for running the whole thing (pretty much)
  23. Also, a big thanks to Lausanne for hosting the games. Even bigger thanks the OC, the people work under the OC, and volunteers for all doing an amazing job running the games.
  24. Well as expected, we’re giving these games vastly different scores. I’d rate the games 9 out of 10, and say they were the best Winter YOG yet. I feel like the IOC really have a great vision for these games, and they’ve done well at implementing it. The broadcast issue with OBS is the main reason why the games get a 9 out of 10 for me. That’s really the only major fault I see here. I know that most of the youth athletes enjoyed their time in Lausanne, and were really appreciative of the experience. I love how Lausanne rose to the occasion. The games were largely a success in my opinion.
