  1. wins the men’s singles in luge for a second YOG in a row.
  2. Another one bites the dust...
  3. Chilean skier sucked just as I expected. She’s been farming those free South American points I see...
  4. No, she was definitely out cold after the impact. I’ve watched enough of this sport to know what that type of fall looks like.
  5. Off the jump I said was trouble earlier. It’s not safe for the athlete. On that jump there are two options: one that sends you to high/far, one that sends you to low/short. I have a bad feeling this won’t be the last horrific crash we see today.
  6. First athlete to knock themselves out today. That took a lot less time than I expected. Horrific crash really.
  7. Yes, but the quality is good. It’s the order of the rails/jumps that’s bad. The Swiss have also made the 1st jump to high (like an aerials jump).
  8. The Swiss are good at many things, building a slopestyle course isn’t one of those things
  9. He has to be right? That’s what I’ve been thinking all week.
  10. Speed Skating doesn’t really get any crowds outside of the Netherlands, and a few select events here and there.
  11. The 2nd Amendment idiots are hosting a “huge” gun rally in Virginia on Sunday. There’s already been multiple arrests of white-nationalists that the FBI suspected were planning attacks. It’ll be interesting how many people show up after that, plus Virginia has banned guns at the event, so... If it’s a large rally, I fully expect violent clashes between groups like the Proud Boys and Antifa. So be on the lookout for that I guess. The area I live in is highly pro-gun, and it drives me crazy. With the shit these people post, I don’t think any of them should have guns. I honestly don’t even trust most of our police department to have personal guns. If there is a “blue wave” in November, I fully expect and hope to see major gun reform.

  15. I don’t know, Ice Hockey is rather popular in Kazakhstan, and they generally have good crowds at most international events.
  16. I mean they are. It doesn’t make the statement better or worse, I’m just answering your question.
  17. Well technically Europe and Asia are the same continent.
  18. Very interesting first day of Women’s Ice Hockey. Both of the pre-tournament favorites taken to a shootout by generally weaker opponents. Sweden saves themselves, while the Czechs put some pressure on their next game. I think the Czechs should easily defeat Japan, but this already becoming an entertaining tournament.
  19. Second ATSX 500 Event of the season: Much better track, with an interesting little bit due to the sun. Racing was much better here in my opinion. I really do hope to see this in the Winter Olympics one day.
  20. Just found out the reason for this. The above average temperatures in Europe (climate change) has been making it hard to create and build the tracks. So they’ve had to cancel the Almaty (250) and Nur-Sultan (1000) events, and move the Igora event (500) to February. To make up for it there’s move events in North America (1 250, and 1 500) now. They’ve also added a 250 to be held in Italy in mid-March.
  21. Damn that’s a shame. By far one of Iraq’s best sports is Handball. I’ve seen the play, and I’ve been throughly impressed considering what the country’s been through. Hopefully they’ll find success at the Asian or Islamic Games one of these days.
  22. Interesting quite from the one and only Kelly Sildaru: “I think the Youth Olympics is a bigger event [than the world championships] and everything is organised a bit better,” she said. “It is maybe more important, or maybe it is just different. But it is big, for sure. Getting a medal here would rank just the same as the world championship. And the world champs are a really big event.”
  23. Almost a miracle. Unfortunately, I don’t see Slovakia moving on after that defeat
