Well, it will be a 15k stadium after the WCh, the white seats in the upper level will be gone and that level will be turned into a 800m running course and shops. They will probably be able to expand it again if we ever have a similarly big event. 15.000 seats will be plenty enough for most athletics events here, Hungarians don't show up in huge numbers for athletics.

It's more than enough pretty much anywhere these days tbh.

Is it supposed to turn into an olympic stadium if ever Budapest was to host the OG ?

  2. It looks more like a 50-60K stadium than a 36K one !

Anyway, that's the first permanent athletics stadium (10k+ seats ) buit in Europe in a very long time. I would say since Charléty Stadium in Paris (1994) but I'm waiting to be corrected.

It’s not like baseball, cricket, or flag football are much better though. I think those four are the “frontrunners” from what I can discern.

LA28 has held their cards very close though, so who knows? :dunno:

Quotas-wise, that's not possible unless IOC change its rules.

something exciting? yes, for the combat sports fans those disciplines are exciting (and point fighting could be also for newcomers, more than the other disciplines under WAKO management...not only, there might be less "manipulation" than in the other events)

That's the important part. Combat sports fans are allready well served by the olympic program as it is. Adding Kickboxing would only marginally improving that. If you want to bring newcomers to these sports, only some form of MMA would do it.

  9. I don't see what kickboxing would add to the olympics table ? Money ? No ; Fans ? Not really ? Something new and exciting ? No And it's not like you can have the sport at the olympics without adding a load of extra quotas.

Maybe if god-awful TWD was to be kicked out of the olympics (one man can only hope), they  might find a way to remplace it, but that's it.

:FRA Marjorie Delassus who was leading the whole semifinal has been disqualified for too heavier boat ... last time I heard this was the :GBR Clarke who tried to cheat with adding something into his boat a couple of years back and won the race to being later caught and DSQ

Thanks, I was curious why she was DSQ.

most of them being non-olympic events of olympic sports or just non-olympic sports (sometimes they're olympic events, but only if we can benefit from many absent stars -see diving/shooting/fencing/gymnastics with no Russians, for instance).

next year, our Olympic total won't be as good as i Tokyo, I fear

Italy easely won the European Championships last year, is heavely dominating this European Games, more than doubling CONI medals target. At that point, the country is seating on an very healthy 44 medals and 17 golds on the world championships medals table

Italian sport is on an amazing upward trajectory. Anything but an historic record of medals and golds in Paris would be a major dissapointment.

I'm sorry mate, but you won't be abble to counter-jinx your country out of it :teacher:

no no France has not lodged any dispute!

    Actually, we did :p

A swiss fencer (Favre) went out on an injury during the SF, before turning again for the final. Apparently, he should have seeked medical consultation for that and that was not the case.

Final decision to be made in a few days.
