  1. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 Yesterday's Results Neman Grodno 5-4 (ot) Vienna Capitals JYP Jyväskylä 3-2 EV Zug Oceláři Třinec 9-1 Esbjerg Energy Grizzlys Wolfsburg 4-3 HC05 Banská Bystrica Brynäs IF 4-3 (so) IFK Helsinki Red Bull Salzburg 1-6 Tappara Tampere Red Bull Munich 6-2 Comarch Cracovia and Today's Schedule Gap Rapaces vs. ZSC Lions Zurich Group H, Alps Arena (15:00) With a point from their OT loss in Gothenburg, ZSC head to the French Alps with the chance to move further ahead of the chasing pack. Frölunda Indians vs. KAC Klagenfurt Group H, Frölundaborg (15:00) The two unbeaten sides meet in Gothenburg as both look to go clear at the top of Group H. Both had tough opening matches, but if Klagenfurt can get anything from the defending champions' it will be a huge result for them. Bílí Tygři Liberec vs. Cardiff Devils Group E, Home Credit Arena (15:30) After their baptism of fire in Davos, Cardiff head to Liberec for the first ever meeting in the CHL between teams from the Extraliga and Elite League. Mountfield HK vs. Nottingham Panthers Group F, Arena Hradec Králové (18:00) Both teams surprised on opening day - Mountfield by comfortably beating TPS, and Nottingham with their battling performance in Bern. Stavanger Oilers vs. Malmö Redhawks Group B, DNB Arena (18:00) The two sides meet as both go in search of their first win in the CHL this season, but it's also got more spice to it as for the first time Norwegian and Swedish teams do battle in the competition! KalPa Kuopio vs. Kometa Brno Group B, Niiralan Monttu (18:00) The top two teams in the group after one game meet in Kuopio. The hosts will have to start better than in their last home game, while the visitors go in search of the perfect end to their road trip. SC Bern vs. TPS Turku Group F, PostFinance Arena (19:45) Having been outplayed against Mountfield HK, TPS head to Bern with an immediate chance to turn things around. The home side however have the chance to move six points clear of tonight's opponents with a win. HC Davos vs. Växjö Lakers Group E, Vaillant Arena (19:45) After their big win on opening night, HC Davos will expect a thoroughly different challenge in the shape of last year's CHL Semi-Finalists. The Lakers had a poor spell in Liberec where they conceded three goals in as many minutes, but still won the game in OT. Whoever tonight will be in the driving seat for qualification.
  2. here: http://jrworlds2017.veloresults.com/ I also found a link to a supposed live broadcast, but today's races are already over (should be good for tomorrow)... https://velodromemontichiari.com/en/velotv-en/ p.s. to be honest...I've just given a look at it...and there are no updates since yesterday morning...
  3. too much Japan in Women's Wrestling...but still a nice competition, with medals going more or less all around the world... in the meantime, a few moments ago I watched an unbelievable match in the men's -125kg...Shabanbay (KAZ) lost to Gagloev (SVK) 11-10...I think I never saw such a high score in this weight class, even in freestyle (where scoring is higher on average)... and Italy also got their first win in a single match at these World Champs... thanks to our Georgian born guy Givi Davidovi in the -57kg class (he beat a Moroccan wrestler by superiority)... I hope he can get at least another win...so, just for my personal satisfaction (you know...sometimes it's a bit frustrating watching and being a fan of a sport that almost never gives you any "patriotic" joy )... waiting for Frank Chamizo tomorrow to put Italy on the map...
  4. well, they are regular host for Baseball events (World Baseball Classic, World Cup, the old Intercontinental Cup, Youth World Champs) and for the Volleyball Grand Prix (not the finals, though)... and recently they hosted Junior and Youth World Champs in Women's Boxing... but I guess you're right when you write about politics keeping bigger events far away from the Island...
  5. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 Yesterday's Results http://www.championshockeyleague.com/en/schedule#select_schedule=0 and Today's Schedule Grizzlys Wolfsburg vs. HC05 Banská Bystrica Eis Arena Wolfsburg, Group A (18:00) Slovakia's Champions HC05 Banská Bystrica make their Champions Hockey League debut in Wolfsburg, who finished as runners up in last year's DEL play-offs. On paper, Group A is one of the more open to call, making this already a crunch game for the race to finish in the Top Two. Oceláři Třinec vs. Esbjerg Energy Werk Arena, Group D (18:00) Trinec have never made it to the Round of 16 in the CHL, and their quest to do so this season starts with a tricky game against Danish Champions Esbjerg. While many might predict the Energy to finish last in the group, last year's OT win over IFK Helsinki should be a warning to anyone that would take them lightly. Neman Grodno vs. Vienna Capitals Grodno Ice Sports Palace, Group C (18:00) Although Grodno have taken part in the CHL before, it's somewhat 'into the unknown' for Vienna taking on the Belarussian champions. JYP Jyväskylä vs. EV Zug LähiTapiola Areena, Group C (18:00) Both JYP and Zug have made the CHL play-offs in each of their four seasons taking part, making these two the favourites to advance. The game also see Jarko Immonen face his old team having moved back to JYP over the summer. Red Bull Munich vs. Comarch Cracovia Olympia-Eisstadion, Group G (19:00) Cracovia made a big impression in last year's CHL with their strong fan base, and they're expected to have strong support today as the team head to Munich. The German Champions have set winning the CHL as a target for this season, so will not be in the mood to drop any points. Red Bull Salzburg vs. Tappara Tampere Eisarena Salzburg, Group A (19:00) Salzburg entertain Liiga Champions Tappara in a game that both will target to win if they want to advance from Group A. Neither side has set European hockey alight in recent seasons, and both are aiming to do better this time aorund. Brynäs IF vs. IFK Helsinki Gavlerinken Arena, Group G (19:00) CHL hockey arrives in Gavle, and Brynäs couldn't have asked for a much better fixture as they welcome IFK Helsinki to town. The Finns and their hosts will be favourites to advance from the group, but for the home side it will be a good early test of where they sit alongside some of Europe's best.

  7. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 starts Today It's finally time – dust off those jerseys, get your scarves, and put on your lucky sweater because hockey is back! The Champions Hockey League returns for the 2017/18 season with nine games on opening day. Here's what's coming up today: Bílí Tygři Liberec vs. Växjö Lakers Group E, Home Credit Arena (17:00) The Czech regular season winners meet last year's CHL Semi-Finalists. Mountfield HK vs. TPS Turku Group F, Arena Hradec Kralove (17:00) Mountfield HK, who made the Czech Extraliga Semi-Finals, take on the Finnish side who almost got to the same stage in last year's Liiga. KalPa Kuopio vs. Malmö Redhawks Group B, Niiralan Monttu (18:00) A Nordic derby sees Liiga finalists KalPa host Malmö, who are making their CHL debut. Frölunda Indians vs. ZSC Lions Zurich Group H, Frölundaborg (18:30) For opening day, fans couldn't have asked for a more mouth-watering matchup. The back-to-back CHL champions host the Swiss team that won the first Champions Hockey League back in 2009, at the venue of last year's Final. HV71 Jönköping vs. Adler Mannheim Group D, Kinnarps Arena (18:30) Swedish champions HV71, who were eliminated last season by eventual finalists Sparta Prague, take on the DEL club that is looking to finally go further in the Champions Hockey League. Stavanger Oilers vs. Kometa Brno Group B, DNB Arena (19:30) Stavanger have been a fixture of the CHL since the first season in 2014, and have caused some upsets along the way. Today they meet a team making its debut in the competition – Czech Extraliga champions Kometa Brno. SC Bern vs. Nottingham Panthers Group F, PostFinance Arena (19:45) SC Bern were dominant in Switzerland last year and got to the CHL Quarter-Finals before being knocked out in Prague. Aiming to go further this year, they begin their Group Stage schedule with a home tie against the Continental Cup winners from Nottingham. HC Davos vs. Cardiff Devils Group E, Vaillant Arena (19:45) Could CHL debutants Cardiff have asked for a more stunning fixture on opening day? The Devils visit the Swiss mountains to face Davos – CHL Semi-Finalists two seasons ago, and who are aiming to go far this time around again. Gap Rapaces vs. KAC Klagenfurt Group H, Alps Arena (20:30) If either Gap or the KAC want to qualify for the next round, then they need to start here. The teams meet in the Alps with both sides aiming for a win.
  8. great news! I read it this morning on Sport1/2 website (I check their schedule quite regularly)... however, yesterday I saw the season opener on a satellite feed (with Russian commentary...which is more or less the same as Slovakian for me...I understand just names and numbers...and not always )... not a great game, to be honest...the hype was a lot higher than the actual show on the ice...SKA was too strong and CSKA didn't even tried that hard to stop them... now I'm on an other sat feed with Dinamo Riga playing in Omsk...it was close until a few moments ago, but then Avangard scored 3 goals early into the 3rd period, which should seal the victory for them (game's almost over)... I hope to find at least 1 more sat feed later (normally there are more feeds of the games starting at 7.30 p.m. Moscow time...early games are rare exceptions...I don't know why?)... in any case, I'm very happy for Sport 1/2 getting back to the usual business...

  10. no idea of what's gonna happen... I only read their schedule and found out that they (Paris Premiere) should go live for many hours a day... however, not good news if they're not so reliable... the Equidia channels are only available to subscribers...no chance for satellite explorers (let's name them so)... however, those kind of events always have the satellite feed available... having a pure TV channel broadcasting an event is just more comfortable, but feedhunting always gives fans a chance...
  11. Russia and Germany were the main prtagonists in the first day of the Greco-Roman events with 2 finalists each... Aleksanyan, though, was just amazing...surely the most impressive wrestler seen this morning/afternoon...
  12. Greco-Roman Wrestling, -98Kg Semifinals: Artur Aleksanyan (ARM) b. Rustam Assakaolv (UZB) Musa Evloev (RUS) b. Dmitriy Timchenko (UKR)
  13. Greco-Roman Wrestling, -75Kg Semifinals: Viktor Nemes (SRB) b. Kazbek Kilou (BLR) Aleksandr Chekhirkin (RUS) b. Tamas Lorincz (HUN)

  15. Greco-Roman Wrestling, -71Kg Semifinals: Frank Staebler (GER) b. Daniel Cataraga (MDA) Demeu Zhadrayev (KAZ) b. Balint Korpasi (HUN)
  16. French Tv channel Paris Premiere will cover almost every second of action... this channel is available for free on satellite (@ 5° West) for those who have a STB which can tune the socalled Multistream Channels (basically the newest models of linux-based STBs)...
  17. yes, I know the most recent development in the German saga about the OG on Tv...
  18. Doping kills... Bulgarian weightlifter Velichko Cholakov passed away at the age of just 35 R.I.P. http://www.novinite.com/articles/182456/Olympic+Medalist+Velichko+Cholakov+Passed+Away

  20. 1-I agree...playing a Memorial Tournament far away from the home of the people you're supposed to commemorate is just senseless... but you know...nowadays is everything all only about money...and when we talk of hockey and money, North America is the place to be... 2-aaagh!!!! that's very bad news for me (and not only for me, I guess)... I hope they just make up their minds and take some money off for the KHL, too... however, I haven't seen any more football on their schedule...it's still the same French and Itallian leagues and the German Cup + the European qualifiers to Russia 2018...so, the money should still be there...I keep my fingers crossed (and in the meantime I just set up my dish to perfection...just in case)... 3-at least that...
  21. BBC is also broadcasting the Eventing europeans... Saturday and Sunday they will be live on Red Button Channel (viewable also FTA on satellite @ 28.2 East)... and Sunday there will be a full 2-hr summary on BBC 2 (from 17.45 to 19.50 CET)... of course all this will be also available online (with a VPN)... here you can find the BBC Sport Schedule (full week, all sports included of course)... http://www.bbc.com/sport/36722726
  22. Last week I saw a few games of the Ivan Hlinka memorial... quite an entertaining event for the period, even if Canada were clearly better than any other team and Slovakia were quite awful, to be honest... p.s. @hckosice I don't see any KHL game scheduled in the next weeks on Sport 1 & 2 (I noticed only CHL matches)...have someone else bought the tv rights for the new season in CZE and SVK or what? I'm a bit worried... it wouldn't be nice to lose tv games of the second best hockey championship in the world... as you know, for IIHF Hockey I rely basically on the Czech and Slovak tv channels (I've seen that next week's games between CZE and SVK will be broadcasted on both Czech and Slovak public Tv...I love that), sice satellite feeds are inconsistent and sometimes unreachable with my not so big dish...I desperately need some good news...
  23. but you have to consider that all MLB (and other main Pro Leagues, too) Baseball suspensions are also a big economical loss for those who are caught...for most of these players, getting a 100 games suspension means also losing 62.5% of their yearly salary (which generally is a many million dollar salary)... and normally they also lose their rich sponsorship contracts when they get suspended... so, in my opinion they are hit a lot harder than any other sportsman, since they are heavily hit in their wallet (the thing they care more about, without any doubt)... @vinipereira there's a lot of money surrounding Pro Baseball and it's very difficult to make it to the top level because of the very high competition, so it's obvious that there are also many cheaters who try everything (illegal stuff included) to earn a place under the sun... and technically, to succeed in baseball you need a lot of skills...strenght, speed, ability to stay focused, very good reflexes...so, there are a lot things you can improve with medicines, which favors the abuse of certain (banned) substances...
  24. sure...that study was funded by people who wanted to cancel the gender rules...it's obvious that they stated such big lies... the proof...when Semenya was forced by the rules to take medicines to correct her level of testosterone could only run 2.05 in the 800m, when she's free not to take any medicine to lower her masculine level of testosterone she's able to run 1.55 (and better)... the same with Pamela Jelimo...she looked unbeatable (and ran 1.54)...after she started to take those corrective medicines, she basically had to retire... well, I know a couple of people having gone trough sex change procedures...and I can tell you that even after having completed the transition (so, after having taken tons of medicines, estrogen and things like that), they still have uncommon strenght and physical ability than "natural born" women... nobody will never make me change my mind about the fact that women not biologically born as women can play sport against other "real" women in fair conditions...they will always have a big advantage (and trust me...it's not a question of being racist, sexist or anything else...it's just like things actually are)... by the way, the official clinical definition for Semenya, Wambui and Nyonsaba's cases is "androgyny"/"hyper-androgynism"...
