  1. no, they definitely don't have many chances (unless you can persuade Nikki Van Dijk to switch from AUS to NED)...
  2. I'm pretty sure that Jennifer Rodriguez is from Florida, too... and Erin Jackson... but I agree, there are a lot of great present and past US speedskaters who are definitely not from Florida (Chad Hedrick and Derek Parra above all)... however, the fact that many of them come from places not famous for snow and ice is because they all start skating with roller skates and only when they discover to be good enough to compete at Olympic level they switch to ice speedskating (otherwise they have no reason to go away from their family and and start a different sport -because skating on the ice and with roller skates are 2 different sports, with very few athletes in the world capable of getting world/olympic medals in both)...
  3. it looks that there are no restrictions, so hopefully we can enter a man even if De Filippi takes a quota place later today... however, in that tournament there's only 1 single quota place up for grabs in bopth men and women's Trap (meanwhile there are 2 QP available in men and women's Skeet -but this fortunately doesn't matter for us), so it will be extremely difficult to win it in that occasion...man must win the gold medal (and only that)...
  4. men's Individual Trap, shooters qualified to the Final Jiri Liptak Marian Kovacocy Josip Glasnovic* Mauro De Filippis Aaron Heading Armelim Filipe Rodrigues *already qualified to the Olympic Games so, 5 men for 2 quota places...
  5. for those interested in game #3 of both Oceania Cup matches (M + W), here you can find a live streaming (there are also the first 2 games ondemand)... https://livestream.com/accounts/9457344/events/8747921
  6. obviously ISA...WSL has nothing to do with Europe (apart for a couple of events and those few surfers from the Old Continent being regular members of that league)...
  7. after 4 series out of 5, in the men's Trap qualification round we have 3 guys ( Armelim Filipe Rodrigues, Jiri Liptak and Marian Kovacocy) sharing the lead with 97/100 hits... following the top 3, we have 2 more guys ( Josip Glasnovic* and Mauro De Filippis) stuck at 96/100 and 3 ( Jukka Laakso, Aaron Heading and Nihat Akterzi) who hit 95/100... then, there's a small group of 6 shooters with 94/100... those to me are the only guys still in contention for a place in the Final...and unfortunately, once again -and this time for the last and definitive time- Pellielo and Grazini are not among those, killing any hope for Italy to have 2 male Trap specialists in Tokyo (barring an improbable switch between the already qualified members of the team in other disciplines)... * NOT pursuing the Olympic Quota Place, as he already got it... all the other named shooters instead are competing also for the OQ (also 5 of the 6 shooters at 94/100, the only already qualified guy among them being Alexey Alipov)...
  8. the rules say it's about the ranking points...but if both are above all the rest of the field, it might well be that the Iran's NF can somehow (unofficially) decide who's going to tokyo by withdrawing the one they want to stop by the end of the OQP (for instance, saying he's unable to attend the Games because he has a long term injury)...
  9. I don't need them to agree...that's a fact. point. WSL is a commercial circuit, built only for money purpose by a bunch of "rebels" who didn't want to follow the rules and limitations that a world federation recognized by the IOC has... and the fact that apart from a few individuals from France and South Africa (and once every while from other Countries, but they are just temporary exceptions, like Igarashi, Hennessy or Hareb right now), all the competitors are from USA/AUS and lately BRA is there to be seen...it's not a wet fantasy...
  10. 1) sure...and I think the same of them as of Salazar and his group (and the Seagrave group for sprinters and so on...all the supposed gurus of any discipline has his/her dark side of the moon)... about NOP...I'm pretty sure that Nike help them developing new generation doping and covering it up...they're as dirty as all the big multi-National groups are (in all kind of activities, not only in sports, of course...for instance, just watch the recent Fentanyl -and other medicines of that kind- scandal and the reactions that followed in the scientific community)...
  11. this is the actual world championships, with all the best surfers in the world (since we have WSL and non-WSL specialists)... the WSL is just a professional elite circuit with the best athletes from basically only the "surfing Nations"...they just established that league because they wanted to take advantage of the financial aspects and build a place where the best among the best were more easily recognizable by the fans... it's like the UFC and the other MMA organizations...the first is supposed to have the best fighters, but that's not always nor necessarily true...they're just the reachest, better organized and more "media friendly" crew, rather than the cradle of the best specialists...
  12. very good (and unexpected) performance by Clio Ferracuti in the women's +68kg...she's been able to take advantage of a good draw and made it through to the big final...chapeau! good, but not good enough, instead, Silvia Semeraro's day...she's going to be in the Bronze Medal match, but the problem is that she lost against the French girl (Agier) a direct match up for the high places in the OQR, which means that the French is going to gain points on her... and also Zaretska is in the big final... basically, only Quirici will sum up less points than Semeraro this week, but she has such a big advantage over the Italian in the standings that she's not the girl she has to run against... she does definitely need to win at least 1 or 2 big tournaments in this final part of the year and make sure her direct opponents lose some points, as relying only on the repechage spot through the Continental Games she has in the bag could be dangerous and illusive at the end of the OQP... among the boys, meaningless apprearance by Simone Marino in the superheavyweights and good (7th place in the end), but not good enough outing for Michele Martina in the -84kg, losing first the pool final against Araga and then the last repechage match before making it to the bronze medal match against Chikhmarev...once again a Kazakh guy stopping one of ours (we definitely have a problem when facing Iranians and Kazakhs)...
  13. 14. it was know from the beginning...and there's no high official from IAAF, WADA and even CAS who's not guilty of that manipulation... that's why I'm sure that nothing is trustable when it comes to the anti-doping system... however, if he has any kind of dignity left, Sir Seb Coe (and the entire IAAF Board) now should resign immediately (of course also all the WADA officials and Italian federation officials should do it, but from them I don't expect even some kind of respect for the evidence...they will always say they are right)...
  15. OK, the winner of the women's heat #7 is my absolute new idol...she made my day...she's from Chile and her name is Lorena Fica... for those who can't speak Italian, fica literally means "pussy" (and it's not even the medical term for that, it's the form you shouldn't use in any public speech)...

  19. when you don't have enough offensive talent, you can't win close matches (especially when the opponent is stronger on paper -and not only on paper)... Italy did a lot better than expected, though...with this team, I did really expect them to lose by 50 against SRB and by 30+ against ESP...
  20. women's Individual Trap Gold: Daria Semianova Silver: Jessica Rossi Bronze: Alessandra Perilli Olympic Quota: Russia, San Marino
  21. sure, but at least he's still in the race...those 2 Italian chokers with 45 aren't...
  22. by the way, Alessandra!!!
  23. what the fu*k! they're live but can't put the streaming for the rest of the world online? I repeat...they're more than a bunch of idiots...they are the worst disaster a sport fan can face!
  24. and he's leading the competition with 49/50 after the first 2 series (tied with Borko Vasiljevic)... things, as expected, are going really bad for Italy...De Filippis is still in contention (he's in the group following the 2 leaders, with 48/50), but Pellielo and Grazini (45/50) look already out of the game...once again...and Resca (last Italian World Champion in men's Trap in 2017, not 2000 years ago) is at home watching something else on tv...
  25. Italian public TV strikes again!!! from ESC's Facebook page... "Dear Shooting Friends, Due to the Host Broadcaster's technical issues we can't broadcast the Finals from Lonato live. Hope our Italian fix the problem within the shortest time possible." what a bunch of idiots! they're just the ruin of the sports...all the sports, I mean...
