  1. by the way, the soap opera is finally over... this season, the Toronto Blue Jays will play their home games in Buffalo... https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-play-home-games-buffalos-sahlen-field/
  2. while the traditional tournaments are still "on holiday", yesterday night in Austin (Texas, USA) one of the classic US "Beat the Streets" shows was on stage with a few interesting men's Freestyle matches... and the main event was probably also the match of the year, Kyle Dake vs Frank Chamizo Marquez, at the weight limit of 79kg (so, in the territory favourable to Dake, more than Chamizo, who's normally a 74kg wrestler, coming up from lower weights)... however, as expected, it was a really close bout...and the eventual winner was Kyle Dake by a score of 4-3 (2-1 in his favour also the first 3 mins)... other results from last night (all US wrestlers): David Taylor b. Myles Martin 11-0Luke Pletcher b. Darrion Caldwell 9-2Roman Bravo-Young b. Jack Mueller 8-1Vito Arujau b. Sammy Alvarez 16-5 unfortunately all the video stuff is only on the pay site Flowrestling.org...if someone has a subscription, here's the link: https://www.flowrestling.org/?utm_source=flosportshomepage&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=flosports.tv&utm_term=ournetwork
  3. more or less, the same of day #1, plus the start of Slalom Canoeing and the Olympic debut of Skateboarding (but only because it's the Olympic debut)...
  4. thanks, but I think I have enough with the current competitions... as I wrote before, I find it very difficult to watch the old Olympic picture these days... if they keep them online for some time, maybe in a few weeks I'd give them a look...
  5. Fencing, Judo, Taekwondo above all...then Shooting, Archery, the men's Road Race in Cycling and the Rowing and Swimming heats (especially those with Italian contenders)... but basically I always try to watch as much as I can (except for my "enemies", those sports-non-sports where biased/corrupted judging is the only things that counts towards the final outcome of the competition)...
  6. more than a little...a wild river of tears...
  7. not that easy...I'm not giving them 60 bucks for this 35% of a season (with no people on the stands)... our tv only shows 2/3 games a week in RS and I only have a 7-day trial of the ESPN Player for Europe/ME/Africa (and my Japanese IPTV subscription ended 2 days ago...and I'm going to renew it only in october for the playoffs, as it's quite expensive)... but I still have all the Korean KBO games for free...
  8. I really like the name, the logo and the dark blue jersey... however, earlier today I bought some smoked sockeye...but apparently I didn't make the right choice...
  9. so sad it's all happening in such depressing situation... by the way, I'm very happy that we're finally going to have a 32nd team in the League and I'm particularly hapy that this team is based in Seattle, a long time forgotten hockey town with a lot of historical background in this sport...
  10. I just can't do it...I can't watch anything Olympic anymore without getting heavily depressed... hope August 1st comes quick, so I can distract myself with a NHL overload and stop thinking to what it could have been and instead it's not...
  11. I hope they are not so "stupid" to pretend an effective vaccine is made worldwide available by next year... to me, the point is just looking at how the pandemic develops in the next northern emisphere winter...if there are no major cases all around or if we just find an effective medicine rather than a vaccine, why to waste all that was built? as extreme measures, I only see some restrictions to foreign visitors (of course they should be refunded in full, if they lose the chance to travel to JPN), reselling tickets within the local residents only (with heavy price drop, if needed) and a 4-week quarantine for athletes and officials before the beginning of the Games... actually, imho, under these conditions, they could even hold the Games tomorrow...
  12. well, today it would have been officially the -2 day, but in practice we could have watched the first Olympic events (Softball and women's Football) of the Tokyo 2020 Games... instead, it's only -367 officially (-365 in practice, that's what really counts to me)... I feel so sad...my heart is broken...I can't even watch old Olympic pictures as usual without a river of tears coming off my eyes, going down my cheeks...
  13. my 2 cents... AL EAST Yankees Rays Blue Jays Red Sox Orioles AL CENTRAL Indians Twins White Sox Royals Tigers AL WEST Athletics Angels Astros Mariners Rangers NL EAST Nationals Phillies Braves Mets Marlins NL CENTRAL Cubs Brewers Cardinals Pirates Reds NL WEST Dodgers Diamondbacks Giants Padres Rockies ALCS: Yankees def Indians NLCS: Dodgers def Nationals World Series: Yankees def Dodgers...and yes, it's 100% scramantic
  14. FIE confirmed today the Final Rankings of the 2019/2020 World Cup in each weapon, after the last World Cup stages of the season have been cancelled and the 2020 World Championships have been postponed to 2022... this season's champions are: Women's Epee: Ana Maria Popescu (Individual) and China (Team) Women's Foil: Inna Deriglazova (Individual) and Russia (Team) Women's Sabre: Olga Kharlan (Individual) and Russia (Team) Men's Epee: Sergey Bida (Individual) and France (Team) Men's Foil: Alessio Foconi (Individual) and United States (Team) Men's Sabre: Oh Sanguk (Individual) and South Korea (Team) Full Rankings are available on the FIE Official Website, at this page (just check the category you want to see)... https://fie.org/athletes
  15. sorry, but I have to change it again... "De Coubertin's views were just those of an average French/European in those days. Brundage's views were just those of average white people nowadays."
  16. sure, it is... but it's not China threatening to boycott the Tokyo Games...other Nations are playing this "dirty" move against the Beijing WOG... you know...I'm not a fan of the Chinese attitude nor the Russian misbehaviour, but I don't like the typical Western (and Anglophone in particular) hypocracy, too...
  17. imho most English speaking supposed sports powerhouses threaten to boycott the next Games only to hide their scandals (NOP, the most recent ketonic diet of the British team, now massively used by all of their allied from Commonwealth and so on)... they just feel they're losing their privileged position...
  18. apparently it's the Blackfeet Nation the one with the closest ties to the name and logo of the Redskins... https://eu.greatfallstribune.com/story/news/2020/07/13/washington-redskins-name-change-logo-nfl-montana-tribal-member-reactions/5427491002/ but of course the question involves also all the other tribes, so it's more controversial than ever...there's no common view even among the Native Nations... https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2020/07/03/redskins-name-change/
  19. yeah, but I wouldn't care too much of his words out of control... more than anything, it's the farce named WADA what he (and his friend and co-founder, the devil made man, mr. Tamas Ajan) should be blamed for...
  20. I'm glad you realized what kind of man he is... late is still better than never...
  21. more results from Savona (ITA)... Larissa Iapichino (Fiona May's daughter) improves her PB in the women's Long Jump up to 6.80m, new Junior National Record... Filippo Tortu wins over the 100m dash in 10.12 seconds, just ahead of Marcell Jacobs (10.14 for him)... Luminosa Bogliolo wins the women's 100m Hurdles in 12.86, but with the wind slightly over the limit (2.5 m/s)... finally, Davide Re wins the 400m dash in 45.17, meanwhile Leonardo Fabbri wins the men's Shot Put thanks to a 21.15m effort... Full Results, here: http://www.fidal.it/risultati/2020/COD7977/RESULTSBYEVENT1.htm
  22. later today, an interesting meet will be held in Savona (ITA)... as usual, not many international stars at the start because of the travelling restrictions due to covid-19, but we still a good starting field, with Andrew Pozzi and many of the best Italian athletes... main event of the afternoon, the duel between Filippo Tortu and Marcell Jacobs over the men's 100m dash... to be followed closely, also the men's 400m dash with Davide Re (already looking in good shape in the previous meets), the women's 100m hurdles with Luminosa Bogliolo and the men's Shot Put with Leonardo Fabbri... the meet is scheduled between 5 p.m. CET and 7 p.m. CET and it will be televised and streamed live by our public TV sports channel, Raisport+ HD from 5.30 p.m. CET until the end of the program... I hope it will be available all around with no geo-blocking, but I can't be sure until the beginning of the live broadcast... https://www.raiplay.it/dirette/raisportpiuhd
  23. then, follow Ice Hockey...there, people's teeth flying all around are the rule, not an occasional circumstance...
  24. I respect your opinion about Golf and Hockey (despite I don't agree at all)... but Archery and Shooting are not only about "standing in place", sorry...
  25. by the way, today it would have been only 1 week to the first events of the Tokyo 2020 "original" Games... my "Olympic depression" is reaching the highest levels ever...
