  5. finally, a defensive mistake by Spain helped the Netherlands to score the lone run in the bottom of the 8th... therefore, NED are the first team qualified to the final... meanwhile GBR won 5-1 against CRO and send them to the 2nd Division next time round... in the 5th-8th place playoffs, instead, CZE won a match against BEL that was a lot closer than expected (5-4 the final score) and GER destroyed FRA 14-4 in only 8 innings, which means that tomorrow CZE and GER will play (11 a.m. CET) for the last place in the Olympic Qualification Tournament... least but not last, the second semi is well underway...and ISR just scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning (a grand slam by Rosenbaum included) to turn things around after a good start by Italy... now we are in the top of the 6th with Italy at bat and a score of 5-4 in favour of Israel...
  6. it would be a nonsense... the only Italian city that can host the Summer Games is Rome... actually, under a strictly technical point of view Milan is also capable of that, but it would need a lot of investments and frankly, it's too small... I guess we should be happy with the 2026 winter games and be realistic on anything else...
  7. well, right now he's second in his heat with a score of 82, which could be enough... meanwhile our X-Games chmpion, Ivan Federico, must have something not working properly...after yesterday's escape in the quarters, also today had a really poor performance...dead last in the same heat of Shaun White with 75.33, which of course isn't enough to go further ahead in the competition...
  8. probably I'm heavily influenced by the Italian culture, but I do really think that all things have their own time to be done... 11 year old boys shouldn't be competing against adults... actually, they shouldn't live their activity as a professional one (in terms of dedication and time spent on the board)... meanwhile Shaun White, as expected, is being generously pushed by judges...
  9. because at the moment there isn't any strong opponent to their bid (a modest one, if compared to Sydney 2000, by far the best Games ever)... but when it's time to decide, I'm pretty sure that we'll have quite a few good ones from other Countries/Continents...
  10. it's tue that 95% or more of them are from the Greek side, but just without going too much behind in the calendar...Nihat Akterzi missed the final for just 1 hit in the Men's Trap at this same European Championships...
  11. first (relatively) big surprise...no US girls in the Final (even if Armanto is actually American)...
  12. Women advancing to the Final 1 Misugu Okamoto 2 Sky Brown 3 Sakura Yosozumi 4 Dora Varella 5 Poppy Starr-Olsen 6 Isadora Pacheco 7 Kisa Nakamura 8 Lizzie Armanto Full Semifinals Results: http://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/results/category/656-wc-park-sao-paulo-2019-results.html?download=3988:sao-paulo-park-world-championship-women-semifinal-results
  13. in that case it would be down to the NOC, obviously... however, as I wrote, it's just a speculation...in the official docs there's not a single word about possible ties... we can only wait for ISA to clarify that aspect...and I suspect that we'll get some news only if a tie really happens after next year's worlds...
  14. not necessarily...not all the shooters from Cyprus are from the Greek part of the island (even if Konstantinou in this specific case is from the Greek side, of course)...
  15. yes... by the way, if they really bid with Brisbane/Gold Coast, Australia is all but assured to win... there will be strong biddings also from Europe and Asia...and nothing make me think that IOC is really interested in a continental rotation...with all what's going on with Olympic bids, they just go with the best possible project (and the safest bid in financial terms...Milan's win over Stockholm should be a big warning for those who think to win with cheap and messy and unpopular biddings)...
  16. men's Individual Skeet Gold: Jakub Tomecek Silver: Tammaro Cassandro Bronze: Nikolaos Mavrommatis Olympic Quota: Greece, Cyprus
  17. Dimitris Konstantinou, Eric Delaunay and Tammaro Cassandro earned their spot in the final through the shoot-off, which means that Nikolaos Mavrommatis and Dimitris Konstantinou won today's available Quota Places already before the start of the decisive act of today's competition...
  18. men's Individual Skeet, shooters still in contention shooters already in the final Emmanuel Petit Jakub Tomecek Nikolaos Mavrommatis* shooters going to the shoot-off to advance to the final Dimitris Konstantinou* Juan Josè Aramburu* Eric Delaunay Ben Llewellin* Tammaro Cassandro Stefan Nilsson * = shooters fighting for today's 2 available Olympic Quota Places

  20. it's impossible...there should be a mistake in the website layout... there are 32 wrestlers in this class in the entry list...
  21. Day #2 action so far in Chiba... Semifinals men's -58kg Adrian Vicente Yunta vs Armin Hadipour Jang Jun vs Vito Dell'Aquila women's -67kg Guo Yunfei vs Matea Jelic Nigora Tursunkulova vs Magda Wiet Henin men's +80kg Vladislav Larin vs Radik Isaev Sajjad Mardani vs In Kyo Don
  22. lucky escape for Shaun White and especially for the X-Games champion Ivan Federico (who must say thank you to the missing seeded athlete -who I don't know yet who is he- for his ticket to the semis, as he came only 17th in the quarterfinal round)...
  23. I feel more disgusted than anything, instead... I mean, here we are close to a form of "sport pedophilia"... nobody will never convince me that boys and girls of this age should be allowed to compete against men and women who could really be their fathers and mothers...no way...
  24. Men advancing to the Semifinals 1 Thomas Schaar 2 Keegan Palmer 3 Murilo Peres 4 Mateus Hiroshi 5 Tristan Rennie 6 Tate Carew 7 Oscar Rozenberg Hallberg 8 Alessandro Mazzara 9 Liam Pace 10 Alex Sorgente 11 Ayumu Hirano 12 Tyler Edtmayer 13 Steven Yancy Pinero 14 Pedro Quintas 15 Kieran Wolley 16 Shaun White 17 Ivan Federico Full Quarterfinals Results: http://www.worldskate.org/skateboarding/results/category/656-wc-park-sao-paulo-2019-results.html?download=3983:sao-paulo-park-world-championship-men-quarter-final-results
  25. no, as I wrote after the women's event, I don't have a clue about that...I can only suppose they go down to the team ranking and choose the man from the best team (I think that only because that's the tie-breaking criteria under another circumstance, for the repechage in case the WSL can't fill all of their spots and no other guys from the qualifying school can make the top 30 at the next ISA Worlds)... as you said, there's no word on the official qualification document about tied scores in this championship for the continental spots... we'll see if they make any statement after the end of the championships...but I seriously doubt they will...maybe after next year's worlds, if there's a case like this...
