  1. no, nowadays they only have the european and world champs where to show up...and the discipline is more or less abandoned to the 5/6 "traditional" Countries (RUS, UKR, CZE, SWE and FIN)... however, it's still a lot more than Double Trap has to offer (basically now there's a regular activity in this discipline only here in Italy)...
  2. women's Individual Skeet Gold: Danka Bartekova Silver: Andri Eleftheriou Bronze: Barbora Sumova Olympic Quota: Czech Republic, Ukraine
  3. yes, even if today my Kaspersky Security Suite shows me a message that the site is not protected and asks me if I'm sure to go on opening the page...
  4. and Shaun White's Summer Olympic quest for a medal starts here, with a modest 13th place (out of 72 skaters) in the Global Qualifier, closer to elimination (2.66 pts below) than the top of the ranking (7.08 pts above)... it's going to be interesting to see how he performs later today in the quarterfinals, where an outing like yesterday's couldn't be good enough to make it through to the semifinal round... personally, I think he's going to improve round by round, but I'd be really surprised to see him in the final (meanwhile I expect him to comfortably make the semis)...
  5. Sao Paulo 2019 Park World Championships: moving on to the Quarter Finals So many amazing and talented skateboarders in today’s open qualifiers. The youth showed up strong to challenge many of the park vets, but in the end, the herd was thinned. 7. 2 big mistakes never make a correct decision... if Walkden's win at the world champs was a scandal, her loss earlier today is also out of the world... the gold medal match between her and the Chinese Zheng went to the OT... and here, after a few seconds, if you watch the bout, you can clearly see and hear a hard kick from the British girl landing on the Chinese girl's chest protector, but the scoring machines gave the 2 points (and the win) to the Chinese, who clearly didn't land her kick (maybe she just touched Walkden's chest protector with the point of her nails, but surely she didn't hit the Briton hard enough to score any point)... mistery of Taekwondo, one of the most corrupted and unfair sports in the world (even with the scoring machines, which were supposed to improve a dramatic situation)... by the way, today we saw another surprising loss by Lee Dae-Hoon...he doesn't seem to be unbeatable anymore, like he used to be until a short while ago...

  9. not the greatest athlete in the world of Gymnastics (I don't think he ver took part into the Games as an athlete), but surely a man that heavily influenced this Sport, being the world federation's President for about 20 years... Bruno Grandi died earlier today at the age of 85... https://www.gymnastics.sport/site/news/displaynews.php?idNews=2612
  10. women's Junior Skeet, shooters qualified to the final Eva-Tamara Reichert Elizaveta Evgrafova Vanesa Hockova Raveca-Maria Islai Johanna Gerda Margareta Wedekind Elena Bukhonova women's Skeet, shooters qualified to the final Iryna Malovichko Andri Eleftheriou* Barbora Sumova Diana Bacosi* Danka Bartekova* Nur Banu Ozpak * = already qualified to the Olympic Games CZE, TUR and UKR fighting for today's 2 available spots...
  11. more on him...he was born in 1993 in Agadir (MAR) from a Moroccan father and a Dtch mother (that's why he has double citizenship, MAR & NED), but now he lives and trains mainly in France (and surf all over the world)... however, looking at his bio, he's a lot better than I expected as a non full-time follower of this sport... he's not totally unknown at this level...
  12. this Moroccan guy is just unbelievable...I did never, never expected him to go this far... and tbh I didn't expect also our guy to be still in the competition at this stage of the event... by the way, I think Morais is pretty much the man who should take the European quota...even if the fact that the Spanish and the German guy are in the same repechage heat could help 1 of the 2 to stay alive also after rep. round #9...
  13. in Surf you can never be sure...there's always a chance that the weather conditions force to call the day off/slow down the program and force to go to the next day to end the tournament... and in this particular event there's also the chance of a tie for 9th/11th/13th etc. places, which could make the Olympic qualification a mess (at least for us, I'm sure that ISA officials know what's the tie-breaker in case of 2 candidates to the Olympic ticket sharing the same final position)...
  14. good match, even if I think you didn't enjoy the final score too much... to be honest, I think your team has still quite some troubles... in the first period defense was put under pressure and they didn't look 100% reliable, even if they did weel enough to limit the damage to "only" 1 goal... then, thanks also to the many penalties taken by Slovan, things got a bit more balanced, but imho you lack heavily in scoring ability, your forwards made Habal look like Hasek (which isn't the case, I fear)... and I also think that the coach abused of the Majdan/Hascak/Chovan line (with Majdan also double shifting in the last 10 minutes or so)...I don't know if they can do that all the season long (OK, most of the other league teams are not Slovan, but still)... I really hope the youngsters will grow during the season and the coach gets more confidence in them, because you're going to need them (or a good natural born goal scorer from abroad)... meanwhile on the other side of the Border, the Czech League started with a crazy game between Sparta Prague and Pilsen, one of those goal-fests that normally the average fans like so much, but that drive absolutely mad the coaching staffs... finally, it was Sparta to win it 7-6 at the overtime after they were well ahead, fell behind and came back strongly in the final period...an absolute madness... the 3rd European League that started yesterday is the Finnish Liiga... and in the re-match of last season's final, it was Kärpät Oulu the won on the road against HPK (final score, 3-2)... game scoresheet and all goals can be enjoyed here (here in Italy, there are no geo-blockings, it works without any VPN): https://liiga.fi/en/ottelut/2019-2020/runkosarja/1/seuranta/
  15. in this session there's also Enrico La Cruz boxing against the Pole Polski (nomen omen )... the fight starts at 3h30m40s of the YT video...
  16. I know why it happened...it's because there's a Slovak losing his bout... it's a plot by our friend @hckosice
  17. it happened, it happened... you can find it here:
  18. sure...they wanted to avoid some kind of humiliating score in those 2 matches and so they lost their opportunity to win the games they could (and should) have won... they lacked in self-believe, I guess... however, Baseball is so cruel...even when a very good team you're never sure to win, but at the same time it's mathematical that with a bad pitcher you're never gonna win a match... finding the right balance in building the whole roster is always very complicated (unless you have so much talent available as in the USA or Japan or the few other true Baseball Nations in the world)...
  19. well, technically this is a qualification event, as they award quite an amount of points good for the OQR, but still no direct quotas this time...
  20. no direct quotas here... only next year's worlds will award 3 direct trips to Tokyo...
  21. and Czech Republic finally won 10-6 vs GER... so, now all the rankings and brackets reported in the post above this are official...
  22. I'm also into salty things, but not cheese...definitely... I know I'm part of a small minority of people in the world, but I can't do anything about it (it's a psychological problem...I used to eat cheese until I was 6 years young...then one day I got so badly sick after I eat some cheese and from that day I haven't been capable of eating it anymore...and when someone takes a piece of the most smelly kinds of cheese, I can't even sit at that table)...
  23. it's not the players that are angry...it's Adam Silver and Nike, which is a lot worse than having just the players in a bad mood... we can fairly say that the Olympic stage is billion times bigger than the world cup...therefore there's no way we're gonna see a C or D team next year... we'll see the Leflops (ops...I mean Lebron), Kahwi, Steph & co...and obviously they're going to destroy the rest of the world...it happened after any of their losses (apart from the back to back disgrace in 2002 and 2004, when their disinterest for anything outside their backyard was at the top since the cold war times)...
