  1. Two world champions for Holland in about 20 minutes. First Lilian de Geus in Women's RSX and then Dorian van Rijsselberghe in the men's RSX. WOW!!! Both men and women still have to sail the medalrace
  2. A Dutch medal in diving . It's not a long way anymore before we will win medals in badminton, canoeing and wrestling for example.
  3. No quota for in the Women's 470. What happened, they are European Champions and 4th at the Rio Olympics? They only had 6 or 7 races? Hopefully we will win a medal at this World Championships. Laser Radial isn't going as well as expected.
  4. What a disaster for Mathieu van der Poel. Like all other Dutch sporters today (athletics, swimming, sailing, softball) a very bad performance.
  5. Absolutely true, but don't forget Vigier. I think he will be on the sprint podium at the Olympics with Kenny and Botticher. Maybe the Dutch still have a chance for a medal in the teamsprint.
  6. Netherlands deserved to win!! Numbers 1 and 16 of this tournament in the final
  7. You're right!! Well, not in Europe, but from 2008 to 2011 at Olympic and World level.
  8. Unfortunately she isn't, but Femke Heemskerk was pretty good. And Kira Toussaint , I like her mentality. After all the gold medals in the 4x100 freestyle relay, today's silver is a little bit a disappointment ...
  9. Is it now 1vs4, 2vs3 for the final spots? Or 1vs8, 2vs7 and so on? Good ride from the Dutch!
  10. Dutch team in big trouble ... from 4-0 now 4-5 down
  11. Ai ... no good balance beam for the Dutch team. Olympic champion Sanne Wevers only 13.366, hopefully she qualifies for the final anyway. Teamresult behind Belgium at the moment, so it will be close to reach the teamfinal.
  12. Such a shame The Netherland doesn't have a team in this discipline. With all the talented (time trial)riders, we should have a team. Unfortunately Van Vleuten and Vos won't compete at the track anymore.

  14. Primoz Roglic in the individual time trial (men). Annemiek van Vleuten in the individual time trial (women). Japan baseball (men). Netherlands hockey (women).
  15. After the Volleyball Nations League 2018, there was no new FIVB World Ranking. It's still the World Ranking of July 2017. Why? Does the Volleyball Nations League not count for World Rankings? Anyone knows???
  16. In my opinion your women's handballteam will become one of the best in the world. They become better and better, have a very good coach (Henk Groener, Dutch ;-)). In The Netherlands, we are not amused that we have to play against Germany in the mainround of the European Championships. So, I would say "Handball W 75%"
  17. Netherlands has a good chance to qualify in hockey (m/w), waterpolo (v), baseball (m), softball (w) and handball (w). The teams of football (w) and volleyball (w) have unfortunately become weaker this year, I don't think they will be good enough to qualify. For volleyball: four European teams will qualify, Serbia/Turkey/Italy/Russia are better teams now. Football: Germany/Sweden/France/United Kingdom are better.
  18. Interesting to see whether our team can qualify for the Final Six. They absolutely need a win against Turkey on Tuesday.
  19. Italy played a great game. Egonu is unbelievably good, so are Italy's middleblockers Danesi and Chirichella. The Dutch team without coach Giovanni Guidetti has become a very weak team. The Dutch public and media love Celeste Plak, but the only thing she does is delivering bad passes, getting in the way everywhere in the field and spike out the most easy balls. It looks like she shut her eyes during the play. Besides Plak we have two bad libero's. So, as you can understand, I am very jealous of your team (De Gennaro is one of the best libero's in the world). Still I love players like Dijkema, Buijs, Belien and our talented new setter Bongaerts.
  20. The first Olympic Qualification Tournament is in January 2019. Unfortunately the FIVB made a wrong choice again. Only two (2) European teams can enter this competition. Regardless of the outcome of this years Nations League and World Championships the teams of Serbia and Russia will play this tournament. Only because of their World Cuppoints collected in September 2015!!!!! Without these World Cuppoints The Netherlands, Italy and Turkey would have a chance to participate instead of Russia. I already know that Serbia and Russia will have an extra chance for the Games of 2024, because of the points they will collect in January 2019. The other European countries won't have the chance to collect World Cuppoints. In summary: the FIVB world ranking sucks.
  21. Well, Slovenia didn't play with their best players. A good start for the Dutch team 3-1, especially very happy with Maarten van Garderen (4th place at the World Champs Beach Volleyball last year) in the team again. Wednesday against Turkey will be a great challenge for the team.
  22. In that case it would be fair if the World Cup 2015-points will be deleted. But then Russia will may be no longer in the top six, so the FIVB won't do that. World Championships results will be extremely important now.
  23. In women's we would have something like this today: A China Germany Puerto Rico Cuba B USA, Turkey, Belgium, Azerbeidzjan C Serbia Argentina Thailand Czech Republic D Brazil, Korea, Bulgaria, Poland E Russia Dominican Republic Cameroon Kazachstan F Italy Netherlands Croatia Canada The system is clear. Will these qualificationpools played before or after the Continental Championships?
  24. Netherlands on top of the pool, but they already played against the weakest opponents in this competition. Hopefully the Dutch team can improve and will qualify for the Final Six.
