  2. The Dutch players also didn't knew that all results were carried to the next round. Our press secretary of our federation didn't knew it either. In Dutch media we now have 5 points, Russia 4, Finland 1 and Italy 9. They apparently still don't know. (FIVB XXXXXXXX)
  3. But why not for A4 and D4. A4 moves to Bulgaria now, and D4 to Italy.
  4. France wins against Canada. So Netherlands will play against Italy, Finland and Russia/Serbia. Hell of a job! Brazil is the lucky one of pool B in the end ... a second round against Slovenia, Belgium and Australia. Why the hell are A2 and A3 in the same pool and D2/D3 as well?
  5. Oh yes, you're right. Hopefully France will win the match against Canada. Besides that, they need to. Otherwise they take no wins to the second round.
  6. No, only the points against the teams that go through to the next round. Argentina will start the second round with 1 win, 2 losses and 2 points.
  7. Netherlands with very bad luck. Looks like they finish third in poule B, which means Poland, Russia and Argentina in the next round. No chance for us against all those three opponents.
  8. Well, I was wrong yesterday. I truly never believed that Netherlands could win against France. I feel sorry for Egypt, they play nice volleybal and would have chances to go through when they wouldn't have played in this insane group B. In the Netherlands they say that only the results against Brazil, France and Canada will count in the second round. When they finish second in the second round, then all results will count to determine the best numbers two.
  9. Don't worry. Our team is so incredibly weak most of the time, Egypt will still have a good chance. Today Netherlands was up 10-3 and 23-21 and still they didn't manage to win the first set. Now they lose 3-0, so Egypt "only" has to win 3-0 ...
  10. Netherlands needs 1 more set in the last two matches to go through. Will be a relief when they win that set tonight against France (won't be easy).
  11. Thanks! How to compare teams with each other in the second round when all the teams played against other opponents?
  12. Netherlands had 2 third places, 2 fourth places, 2 fifth places, 2 seventh places and 1 eight place in their 9 Olympic boats. A decent result, but we expected more medals. Especially the M8+ (seventh) and M4- (fourth) performed disappointing.
  13. Teams going to the second round take ALL their points from the first round or just the points won against the other 'secondroundteams'? However, this system is ridiculous. But it's the FIVB ...
  14. Dutch boats performed pretty good. 4 teams (Olympic boats) directly to the semis, only the M4x to the repechages. Tomorrow 4 other chances (W8, M8, W2x, W4-)!
  15. 17. And furthermore: in my opinion Turkey has a great chance to host the qualifier, because their coach Guidetti is in the technical commission that advices (or even decides) how the qualification process goes and where the qualification tournaments will be played.
  18. It would reduce the chances of The Netherlands as well, because Serbia and Russia are the highest European teams (and after the WCH these two countries will be still the best two, because they both participated in the 2015 World Cup and gained a lot of points). FIVB is stupid!!!
  19. In Dutch media today there was an article about the qualification process. FIVB still not decided what to do. It seems there is an alternative qualification process in which 6 teams will qualify in the first Olympic Qualification tournament (12 teams) and 5 through continental Championships.
  20. A very, very, very bad performance of the Dutch team against Norway today. After the European title we never reached the high level of that tournament. Now we will miss the Worlds and Olympics, because I think Denmark for sure has a better team.
  21. In The Netherlands ticket sale is not open yet, but I really hope to get the following tickets: -Gymnastics: women's balance beam final (see you there ;-)) -Track cycling: men's teamsprint -BMX: finals -Judo: -70 kg women -Volleyball/Handball/Waterpolo: any game on the womens side with Netherlands (if they qualifie) Will be an expensive holiday, but really want to go to an Olympics for the fifth time (after Torino, Vancouver, London and Pyeongchang)
  22. Netherlands already did for the Women's tournament
  23. qualified RSX Men, RSX Women, Finn, 49er FX and Laser Radial. That's 5 boats. Or did the Women's 470 also qualify?
  24. Two world champions for Holland in about 20 minutes. First Lilian de Geus in Women's RSX and then Dorian van Rijsselberghe in the men's RSX. WOW!!! Both men and women still have to sail the medalrace
  25. A Dutch medal in diving . It's not a long way anymore before we will win medals in badminton, canoeing and wrestling for example.
