  1. Tin Srbić picked up an injury on training. He will start in the final, but with lower difficulty score, basically just to win a quota.
  2. Final results... http://www.favoile.dz/ Quotas for... Men's Laser - Men's RS:X - Women's Laser Radial - Women's RS:X -
  3. Thailand and China attempted to reach requirements at CCI4*-L in Poland... And they failed. Chavatanont actually had a fall on fence 2. That could arguably be the earliest elimination in history. Certainly in my mind, anyway.
  4. Apparently Mongolian women played another 4 tournaments today....
  5. Standings after Cross-country... 78.10 114.30 117.50 120.20 125.90 128.40 138.20 292.50 292.90 340.40 342.40 503.60 Virtual Olympic qualification rankings... 380 (ahead on tie-break) 380 355 (out) So despite incredible 3rd place overnight, Belgians still miss out on tie-break. Granted, Swiss had the second best overall team cross-country round today. In any case, another equestrian qualification nail-biter is coming up tomorrow.
  6. Belgians have secured Top 3 after cross-country! By far their best cross-country performance in years, and right when they really needed it. Switzerland can still defend their qualification though. Netherlands are out.
  7. Belgians have gave it all today. Now they can just sit and hope it's enough for Top 4.
  8. So Switzerland climbed from 12th to 4th during just one rider rotation. I guess this is what we can expect next year.
  9. 200 penalties for France too, as Karim Laghouag takes a dive. Incidentally, they are forced to take additional 20 penalties for substitution, as horses that fell are not allowed to continue.
  10. Disaster for Heffernan with two refusals. Dutch hopes are probably gone. EDIT: Apparently the 3rd refusal happened so he is eliminated. 200 penalties for the Dutch.
  11. Looks like New Zealand already activated a substitution. Dan Jocelyn will replace Samantha Lissington, and thus New Zealand receives 20 penalties.
  12. Cross-country starts in 10 minutes... Live results... Individual - Team
  13. This is how you qualify for the Olympics folks.
  14. Men's Laser Rodney Govinden - 16 Aly Badawy - 33 Allan Julie - 43 Manuel Lelo - 44 Seifeddine Dhaouadi - 49 Women's Laser Radial Khouloud Mansy - 14 Deisy Nhaquille - 16 Mallia Karassane - 27 Sana Lechehab - 38 Maissa Abdelfetah - 42 Seychelles have secured a quota in men's Laser.
  15. So Mongolia earned new 400k points yesterday, as did Iran.
  16. I don't think so. It never says that nations can qualify one per gender. It's just says one boat (unless they win two or more events).
  17. Standings before the Medal Race... Men's RS:X Jean-Marc Gardette - 18 Hamza Bouras - 19 Ahmed-Ramzi Boudjatit - 23 Mohamed Elsafty - 35 Islam Bennaga - 41 Poor Gardette... Probably the entire Algerian fleet will try to sabotage his medal race. Women's RS:X Amina Berrichi - 17 Katia Belabbas - 19 Sherifa Reda - 23 Meriem Rezouani - 27 Lina Ali Ait Slimane - 42 Laser results are yet to be published...
  18. Top 5. However, nations can qualify only one boat between all four events (unless they win two or more events, in which case they can keep two boats).
  19. will probably miss out. In any case, we are guaranteed to have at least two debuting nations.
  20. Apparently Mongolia organized three tournaments on October 9.
  21. Non-televised, less competitive version of World Cup?
  22. This qualification system alone should be enough to permanently remove 3x3 from the program.
  23. Well, their best dressage pair would still need to have minimum requirements in order to start. Still, I can't see any nation for whom such strategy would pay off. Maybe USA or Switzerland, as their best jumping combinations right now are not that great in dressage, but it's debatable. I'm guessing that selectors will completely ignore dressage form while picking a travelling reserve. So this could open the doors for someone who would never be considered before, like Imogen Murray & Ivar Gooden of Great Britain, who often complete the event on their dressage score of 38-40...
