Guess everyone's sick of the disappointments so it's empty in here today. Another medal chance likely gone here in basketball. At least it's not another 4th. -

And now they're throwing the ball out of bounds for no reason like the women!

Men's basketball team learned from the women's 3x3: Make bad 3 point shots non-stop while the other team racks up the points.

I also missed the first dive. But every competition I've seen with North Korean divers they get way over scored.

Again, the North Korean overscored. She still did enough to win with that last dive, but it wasn't worth that score.

Another 4th!

McKay executed her dive better than the North Korean and had a higher degree of difficulty, but comes out with a point less. We'll see what happens in the last round. But get ready for ANOTHER 4th.

I don't think it's doom and gloom. I think Canada as a whole is doing great and there are several exceptional memories made here so far. It's just the amount of 4ths again. It is mind boggling, and a uniquely Canadian phenomenon. Like you said, there are still lots of chances and excitement to come.

Tomorrow is also pretty slow for Canada medal-wise with Rogers in the hammer the only good shot (though it's also a good shot at gold). McKay could surprise in diving, too. But there's some big races in canoe/kayak and athletics, as well as Canada's quarterfinal basketball game.

They're still in beach volleyball. They still have chances in canoe/kayak, breaking, basketball, track cycling, taekwondo, weightlifting and maybe wrestling along with a few in athletics. I'd bet that they beat 24 total, but I'm not sure they can outdo the 7 golds. If half their 4ths came through Canada would already have 24. And they'd still be 3rd for total 4ths!

Total medals: 17 Total 4ths: 12 That is insane. I don't know why it surprises me every single Olympics.

Like many other losses here, they had this win and decided to throw balls out of bounds and foul instead of playing basketball.

Sigh. First day without a medal. Most frustrating team I've ever watched.

Every single time they get the ball they throw it out of bounds. It's ridiculous.

Rodney and Brown the 2 fastest non-qualifiers who would have made it in other heats. Of course.

Rodney would have made it through in the other heats (would have won the last one). Just a fast heat.

They just seem to panic when it's close and start missing easy shots/take impossible shots. Like, they're up by one with 2 or 3 minutes left. Why are they taking terrible 2-point shots? They're the better team, go in, get the 1 and/or force a foul. Make the other team make mistakes. Don't make your own unforced mistakes for them.

They are legit the most frustrating team I'm ever watched. Sometimes it looks like they don't want to win. Sometimes they look like easily the best team in the competition.
