  1. Canadian women 3x3 will almost certainly not finish in the top-2 now. They'll have to play an extra game, assuming if they make it that far (they should, but...).
  2. 3x3 girls give away a win against USA by taking impossible shots at the end and losing in OT.
  3. A Geogian jukoda has been banned for the rest of the tournament for unsportsmanlike behavior. I don't know if this will impact them in the team event, should Canada meet them.
  4. I thought the guy he beat today was the world champion.
  5. Kevin Mayer is out of the decathlon due to injury. I don't think this is a major surprise, but it does bolster Warner's chances.
  6. https://www.thebeaverton.com/2024/08/embarrassed-fifa-announces-that-canadians-can-only-use-their-left-feet-during-quarter-finals/
  7. I guess, but weren't we also saying that in 2016/2020? Ruck and Oleksiak were supposed to lead Canada to glory in the future, and they weren't even in the mix by 2024. I guess we'll see, but swimming seems to be on the decline on the women's side besides Summer.
  8. I wonder if Liendo will also scratch it to concentrate on the 100 fly.
  9. OMG, my feed was 7 minutes behind and I had no idea. I was like...what?
  10. Two 4ths, a 5th and a 6th. Canada back to what it does best.
  11. Imagine what Summer's medal line would look like with better relays. If she was born 5 years earlier she'd have 5 medals so far.
  12. The fencing team exceeded expectations. Losing by 1 in the bronze medal match is frustrating, but they over achieved.
  13. Harvey barely faster than premils, a second slower than her individual. Brousseau slower in the final.
  14. For those wondering, Summer is the first Canadian to win 2 individual golds at an Olympics since Alex Baumann in 1984, also in swimming. She is the first female Canadian to do it.
