I'm so disappointed about basketball. I'm going to a bbq this Saturday with all Americans and we were all hyped to hopefully watch a Canada vs USA final. Even my American co-worker who's really into basketball came up to my room at lunch to ask wth was going on with Canada (He also ripped the refs for their blatant biased officiating). Ultimately, it came down to the first quarter, but really the first half of the first quarter. Canada only tried 3-pointers the whole time and dug themselves a massive hole they could not get out of. It was a terrible strategy and it was pretty even after that.

Yeah, I saw that. I wonder if they asked for a re-do or something.

At least you win lots of real medals. Canada has 18 total medals and 15 4ths. That's a crazy breakdown.

Yeah, while it's a bit surprising, Rogers did get 5th in Tokyo and the world #1 wasn't here.

Yeah, Canada played badly but the refs set the precedent early that they weren't allowed to be close to the French while the French were allowed to run them over. Not blaming the refs for the loss, but it was pretty obvious.

One of the best first weeks, followed by probably one of the worst weeks. Oh well, such is sport. I'm actually hoping Canada gets more 4ths than medals just for the absurdity of it all. It's pretty close now.

Now to watch Rogers foul out three times in a row...

He looked bad in the heats yesterday, despite qualifying. Didn't even bother watching today. Another disappointment.

I mean, France is allowed to foul all day while Canada gets called for being in their vicinity.
