  1. After a very good 1/16 match where she looked aggressive and confident, Harvey looks passive and scared against the Italian, down by a lot.
  2. I'm feeling a fencer or two doing really well tomorrow. Arfa has motivated the team, and we have some higher ranked competitors tomorrow. Someone's getting into to the semis!
  3. They'll make the quarters, but from there is unknown. I think semis is not crazy, but it really just depends on the draw/opposition in the quarters. We saw some upsets in the mens tournament.
  4. As long as those 23 doping Chinese swimmers are allowed to compete! I'm all for punishment, but it took over 2 years to dq a Russian who tested positive at the Games, but only a few days to decide this. Double standards for big and small countries.
  5. If Chalmers didn't swim out of his mind on the last leg in Tokyo, Canada would have snagged a surprise bronze. Different guys, but hope they can compete.
  6. I think the penalty for Canada is too harsh and too quick. Took 2+ years to DQ a Russian doper. 23 Chinese dopers allowed to compete in Paris.
  7. It's going to be tough for him to make the all around final, too. But we'll see.
  8. No men will qualify for an apparatus final. On a positive note, it looks good for the team to qualify for the final.
  9. I lived in Korea for several years, and hearing the Korean women squeal the whole match was like nails on a chalkboard. PTSD.
  10. Yes, but that's not what I meant. I just meant the US team may not perform as strongly as they look on paper because many of their swimmers (particularly Huske and Walsh) have other races, too. Meaning, it's not all in a vacuum and it'll depend on how everyone handles the load and the pressure.
  11. The only way I see them putting McIntosh in is if they feel like 3 of the girls are on form and the fourth is not. They'd have to believe they've got a fair shot at a medal but need a little more umph. Honestly, I think the Chinese are a bit of a wild card now that they're being tested consistently and (hopefully) fairly. Lots of US girls have busy schedules, too.
