  1. By a second and a half with no pressure or competition. I was like, "Watch the clock! Watch the clock! It's going to be close! Wait, no it's not. She's going to absolutely destroy that record!"
  2. I don't know the rules, and I don't care what they have to do to make Maggie happy but they have to do it!
  3. Only 0.05 off his PB, and would have been 5th in Tokyo! In the prelims!
  4. How much "flu medication" did she have in her system at the time? It's unfortunate that when there's a big cover up everyone is suspicious, even if they deserve respect.
  5. I'm just getting a chance to really go through @Topicmaster1010 excellent previews for the trials here. The W 400 IM is incredible, and frankly I didn't realize Canada was so stacked in this race. 4 Women have entry times under the OQT, with three of them having times this season that would have gotten them into the final in Tokyo (and the last two WCs). Then another two actually did compete in Tokyo. Honestly, passively thought of this race as Summer et al. But there's some serious talent here. Should be a fun race! (for second, anyway).
  6. MSH's time would get her into the final, Summer's time would challenge for the gold (so sad she likely can't compete in it at Paris). Pretty disappointed with the 200m after that, though. I expected two (or even more) to get the OQT besides Summer. Most of all disappointed by the breaststroke. No one qualifying is....not great. Edit: Forgot to mention the backstroke. Great race there, great to see two guys qualify. Shave off another half second, could get into the final.
  7. I would put good money on Canada breaking that record, and breaking its gold medal record (7). Summer McIntosh will likely get us most of the way there on her own. I'd also put decent money on Canada breaking the 30 medal mark. And, as always, I'd put my life savings on Canada getting more 4ths than any other nation.
  8. Would have been gold in Tokyo and the last two WC. WOW WOW WOW!
  9. Swimming and athletics are going to be must see TV this summer. Raise your hand if you remember when these two huge sports were a medal desert for Canada. 6 medals in each the last two cycles, don't want to jinx anything but it looks like that'll be beaten in Paris.
  10. And gold at last year's World Championships (and gold at the one before it, too!)
  11. I used to host trivia at a local pub and the crowd would groan every time I did an Olympic category (but they loved my World Cup themed trivias). I'm currently making one for my work in a few months (I do those annoying team building activities). Damn right there's an Olympic part for the Paris Games included.
  12. The last two W4x400 4ths (that's a lot of 4s) at the Olympics were surprises. They're bona fida medal contenders now. Doesn't mean it's a given, but it's a serious possibility.
  13. 3/5 teams qualified, all on first try. Two medals. I'd call that successful.
  14. Yay! Not another 4th by our W4x400!
  15. Great silver by Canada! Bold, perhaps foolish, prediction: USA will fumble an exchange in Paris and Canada takes gold.
  16. Mixed was a disappointment, but W 4x100 qualifying on first try was a nice surprise.
