    That’s awful. I feel so bad for the Hungarian duo who for a moment were told they had bronze and were celebrating. Then 1 minute later told they were actually 6th. Though they were quite far behind so wonder did they know deep down they didn’t have bronze. Either way, that’s not nice.

    I still remember Gunther Weidlinger’s faceplant into the steeplechase barrier many years ago now at Europeans I think. He broke his nose I think and looked like he almost took his head off his shoulders. Anyone else remember that or am I just too old?

    Well mission accomplished for Adeleke to get into the Olympic final. But she doesn’t look in great form. And it’s doubtful she’s keeping anything in store for the final, she didn’t have much in those legs to bring her to the line. Only thing can hope is that she didn’t execute well. But tall order as we all knew to get on that podium but that race really brings it home how big the task is. But she is in the final so the first step is done

    Who is in charge of counting the laps and ringing the bell? That’s twice at these Olympics the bell was rang a lap too late, unacceptable at this level.

    Harrington has announced she will retire now as double Olympic champion! For years she played number 2 to Katie Taylor and would have won so much more had she not been in the shadow of Taylor in the same weight division. Amazing servant to Irish sport and at 34 years of age, she deserves to hang up those gloves and retire at the top. Thank you Kellie for so many great memories! Go collect that gold medal
