So the 3 teams who were relegated from the Second Division in 2023 look to be going back up at the first attempt barring any disqualifications after the fact. Hard luck to Bosnia and Herzegovina, came so close!

It's biannual now which makes the anticipation even higher. I'd gladly have it back every year though (with Olympic year being the exception).

The European Team Champs is always a highlight of the athletics calendar for me. I even ran my own fantasy team championships for each continent here on Totallympics once upon a time but it was too hard to maintain. But so much fun with the format and the promotion and relegation.

Using the season's best of each athlete from the entry list I have calculated a projected points calculation for the 2nd Division. Obviously this is full of caveats due to the fact some athletes are just starting their seasons, some season's best will have been vastly improved since the entry list was released earlier this week and some strong athletes have no seasons best yet and thus their points will not reflect their true potential. Also I did not include the 3 relay events either. Nevertheless I thought it would be nice to calculate it and share. There might be a decent battle for the third promotion spot and with Slovenia at home they are likely to outperform expectations and could really challenge Turkey for promotion. On paper Ireland are in the mix too especially as the relays are not included in this projection and Ireland will be among the strongest teams in the relay events. But I think we'd need to be on our A-game to earn a shot at promotion and I think it might be just beyond them this time.

I am back from my travels in Asia and I am glad to see the contest has found a new host in @Wanderer. I will try to be more active on the forum than I have been in the past few months and hopefully can help out if needed.

Hi everyone, @Sindo has encouraged me to come on the forum to address the situation about the next contest. I have been very busy lately and I haven't had the much time to dedicate to TISC. I must admit though motivation has been pretty low as well at the present time. I will be traveling in Asia for some of the next month so I don't know if I will be able to organise TISC. If neither @Wanderer nor @Belle want to host then we can open it up to bids from any user who wants to host. And if no one wants to host then I suggest we have a TISC hiatus and re-assess some time in the future.

Perhaps swapping with China? Would fix 2 problems with 1 swap? @Vic Liu
