  1. Thank you Paris 2024... in the words of Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston, I will always love you!
  2. They did provide us with the most amazing Olympic theme music ever though courtesy of the wonderful John Williams. Though at 92 years of age they will need a new star
  3. Oh just give Thomas Bach another gold medal already and a medal ceremony all to himself.
  4. It's been a few minutes and we haven't heard Freed From Desire yet.... not even an orchestral version
  5. I will of course continue to be active on this forum after the Olympics. Many of you probably experience the same as me today, that feeling of depression that the Olympics are over. This year that feeling is more a little more sombre due to the fact I am reminiscing about my Olympic vacation and also I start a brand new job tomorrow after a 4 week break from my old job so it's like all good things are ending today
  6. Ireland had their best ever Olympic Games in Paris finishing in 19th place on the final medals table with 4 golds and 3 bronze medals. It surpassed all of my expectations and Paris will have a very special place in my heart with lots of beautiful memories. I got to experience the Olympics in person for the first time in my life and it did not disappoint, I loved every minute of it and the atmosphere was wonderful.
  7. 4th again for Adeleke and Ireland’s relay team What a race by them though, so proud of the girls.
  8. We saw similar in the Mo Farah era but at least they did something even if they used to leave it to the final couple of laps. Plus the Ethiopians had better runners then. Not a race to live in the memory. Norway and Ingebrigtsen won’t care about that though, they get the gold.
  9. That must be the most boring Olympic distance race I have ever seen. Nothing happened the whole race and the expected result happened. Is this really the Olympic Games?
  10. Rhys McClenaghan came through for Ireland to win our first medal in artistic gymnastics. Daniel Wiffen becomes the first Irish man to win an Olympic medal in swimming (x2).
  11. Congrats on the gold medal Algeria . Khelif was much too strong for everyone
  12. 4th for Adeleke. While disappointing after 4th at worlds last year too, she’s only 21 still and will be back for years to come. Horrible to see Nasser on the podium though.
  13. Now I’m even more happy he won, what a lovely gesture by him to his late Mum.
  14. Probably the pressure coming from that run from Sydney McLaughlin, I think she couldn’t handle it and crumbled.
  15. McLaughlin destroys everyone and everything in that race…. what a run!!!!!
  16. God these commentators on Irish television are beyond idiotic… Tebogo shows the date on his shoes 23-12-1980. According to Irish commentators that’s his date of birth
  17. What a race that was! Was willing the Spaniard to make the lap to get on the podium, he deserved it after how well he raced.
  18. You guys did it!! Congrats to India on another podium in men’s hockey, so happy for you guys
  19. Congrats @konig on another medal for Argentina
