  1. Estonia not bad.
  2. Oh? That's interesting. What happened, did it not qualify in the selection process?
  3. He was a singer in the UK boyband 5ive :P
  4. My top 5 so far:
  5. He should have sung this song :P Well actually, he chose the right song in terms of popularity, but I like this one and the Swedish entry not that much.
  6. Well done Michael Rice.... my 2nd favourite so far. To hell with all the nay-sayers :P
  7. It may be unpopular but I like the UK entry a lot
  8. Just found @hckosice in the ESC lounge, still reeking of tequila
  9. Netherlands entry is a way ahead of the rest for me. So good
  10. Come on Netherlands
  11. Nice to see the singer for Cyprus went for the casual dress approach
  12. So that is literally 0% chance
  13. That's a very specific percentage
  14. Sadly I think Sweden will win even though I think there are other much better entries in the final and Netherlands is way more deserving too as it is a more interesting song. But Sweden always do well with juries and this time I think they will have enough televotes to get over the line. But really hoping for a Dutch victory.
  15. I would love to have the chance to select an Irish ESC entry
  16. Well the last time Netherlands hosted Eurovision, Ireland won it, so I guess I should cheer for the Netherlands and then maybe we can win again too
  17. Totally distracting. For any race that short, you are wanting to look at the race only and the stats can come afterwards. Get the f out with those split stats when we are trying to watch the race
  18. Exactly, we just don’t need them, at all. And even if we did, why put them in a part of the screen where it blocks out half the lanes for the first 200m. Grrrrrr!! Plus they are ugly and unreadable too
  19. Again those awful Diamond League graphics and even worse this year as they block out the screen during events like 400m and 400m hurdles
  20. Yes, this is also what I consider a jock to be
  21. I don't think the referendum will cause any increase in the vote turnout, or marginal at least. In past elections we may have had more important referendums on such voting days whereas this referendum is simply about reducing the waiting period for divorce from 4 years down to 2 years. I don't think many people even know this referendum is taking place. I will of course vote in favour of the new proposal because if a couple want to divorce, then why make them wait an extra 2 years.
  22. Yes I will be voting in the European Parliament elections next Friday. We also have local council elections and a referendum on the same day so I will be voting on those too.
  23. Remember to pick your team for the Shanghai leg of the Diamond League. Transfers will be locked down at 08:00am (UTC) on the 18th May (tomorrow).
  24. ESC 1995 also had quite a number of classy songs. Slovenia and Sweden are my favourites, Denmark was great too as well as a number of others including the winners Norway. Sweden - Jan Johansen - Se På Mig Denmark - Aud Wilken - Fra Mols Til Skagen Slovenia - Darja Švajger - Prisluhni Mi
  25. Well since it's Eurovision week, I want to post some ESC songs. I won't be watching Eurovision this year as the quality is garbage with almost no decent songs (or very few). Even when I first watched it in the early 90s, ESC always had a wacky element with crazy acts and songs, some trashy but sometimes catchy songs. But it was always sprinkled with a good helping of genuinely classy singers and performances with beautiful songs, the likes of which you don't really see any more or are very rare now. And with a live orchestra, some performances really were the definition of classy. My favourite ESC was 1994. The set was amazing, my favourite one in the history of the contest and with the introduction of Riverdance too, it had an extra special quality about it. And there were some amazing performances. Here are some of my favourites from that year and the beautiful stage in 1994: Portugal - Sara Tavares - Chamar a Música Poland - Edyta Gorniak - To Nie Ja! Hungary - Friderika Bayer - Kinek Mondjam El Vétkeimet Where are these types of songs now? Not at ESC
