  1. I wanted to say that I'm really happy that we get some nature disaster races at least at the end of the season. I didn't expect Dorothea to be the biggest disaster though
  2. And they're already postponed due to the wind, with women's mass start starting two and a half hours later than planned.
  3. Finally had the time to do the second listen. I am now down to 20 songs and I don't think that my top 3 is going to change in any way. I am also bitterly disappointed by the fact that there are two songs that would probably score points, but one isn't doing itself any favours being in English (the lyrics are just too painful) and one is just soooooooooo similar to another popular song that is executed a thousand times better and I can't unhear it every single time I put it on.
  4. Nice, Marius Žiūkas just sneaked into the Olympics in the last few seconds, so two qualifications for us today
  5. I'm somewhat interested what caused a drop like that too bad my curiosity can't be fulfilled.
  6. That's why I have the two bracket system after the first listen. I feel like it's highly impossible to rank 30 songs from 1 to 30 at the same time, because 5-6 songs in, you don't really remember the context why certain songs ranked low/high and which song should be better than the other. I imagine it's hell to listen to the final 5 songs and figure out where to place them correctly Slightly easier in smaller doses.
  7. I am so blindsided by Peiffer's retirement, it seems so unnecessary this year, right before the Olympics, plus Arnd even won a race this season and medalled in the championships, there's literally so many reasons to stay since he can still fight and add a medal or two before retirement. Makes you wonder if this has something to do with the environment of the German team that's under fire right now due to lack of results. With Peiffer gone, Erik, Denise, Benedikt in their 30s, Germany might look like a dumpster fire if their juniors don't progress into top athletes in two years.
  8. Okay, I think I might have been too nice today... Only six songs didn't pass my initial quality check, so 30 are moving onto the second stage Though, I'm a bit conflicted, since there were only six songs that went into the upper bracket, so not many in this selection that I really really liked, at least from the first listen.
  9. Swedish men really need to buckle down, the women's team has a lot of opportunities for replacements and Stina Nilsson wouldn't even come to mind this year as a possibility, the men though, Stegmayr is definitely far off the best, Femling is somewhat a hit or miss as well. Brandt and Stefansson were also not the answers, so it looks like there is a generation gap of talent that needs to be fixed, because Seb and Ponsi can't really carry the team forever.
  10. FINALLY, I'll be able to listen to this 79 times before deciding on my votes...
  11. Who would be there to disqualify you? We'd be stuck in limbo for eternity then.
  12. You know @rybak, for a country that hasn't yet posted their own song in TISC, you sure are tagging a lot. Poland needs to meet a deadline too
  13. I actually want JTB to take it, because I despise that rule that takes off your worst performances and this time there's 4 taken off. Feels like people are losing globes due to this rule year after year.
  14. I knew Crazy Frog sampled from an older song since I saw it in one of Roomie's videos on Youtube, there are really a lot of cases where sampled music outshines the source material.
  15. I'd rather take an unhappy Guigonnat than a Hofer with his 73rd 4th place this season
  16. I don't know if anybody tracks stuff like this, but I think I might have broken the Biathlon Manager world record today The second thing that I can be happy about after this race is that Hofer finally found a way back on the podium, FINALLY. Third best career result for Linas Banys and best shot from the Lithuanian team today, everybody is tumbling downhill like an alpine skiing gold medalist, but at least Linas looks fresh and better than the first half of the season.
  17. Sadly for the Lithuanian song, the full version with the cello is only on Youtube and not on Spotify
  18. Holy shit, Kaunas is preparing for Independence day hard this year Can't wait to become red on Thursday.
  19. I just hope this whole Eurovision thing will kickstart my career. On Tuesday we start pushing my next song, it's going to be entertaining, yet stressful
  20. Well, all in all, those odds are somewhat a sham, especially the pre-contest ones. They literally just guess on the amount of views, comments and stuff and any new news bumps country up over another. A song that's unreleased is literally first place in the odds and that is absolutely dumb. They also placed "When We're Old" in first, second, third etc. place during the rehearsals only for it to not even breach top 10 in the end. Those bookmakers have absolutely no idea what they're doing until every song is up and then they go by the amount of views and like/dislike ratios to do the rest.
  21. One could say that Lithuania chose wrong
  22. It's almost as if it's your first TISC some entries will be posted after the final day, don't worry
