  1. Ooooh, look, that’s my yacht! The big white one in the middle. ha ha, 5000 capacity, so they all sit together! Great race to start with!
  2. Just catching up. High Jump is one of those events that separates the connoisseur from the casual fan, like the Individual in Biathlon. Slow to start, but builds to a nailbiting finish. Mixed feelings tonight - good to see MY get Third, but gutted for Yellah losing his MO record. The sport must progress but.... Still last!
  3. Complete Guide as to where to watch tonight’s DL. https://www.worldathletics.org/news/news/how-to-follow-2020-diamond-league-online-cove If you’re in , it’s YouTube.
  4. Formolo hangs on for a very brave solo win, was out on his own a long way! Roglič gets a few scraps.
  5. There was hail late on yesterday, after the main riders had finished their climb. Check out what it was like for the peleton. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-8625821/Cyclist-Tim-Declercq-shows-bruises-caught-hailstorm.html#comments Straight fight now between Formolo on his solo break & J-V on the chase. 10k to go. My prediction? Roglič to jump off the pack with 500m to go to win by 10 secs & take the bonus. Going out on a limb, I know.
  6. Off again in the Dauphiné - Davide Formolo off on a long solo run, Arkea are temporarily in charge of the chasing duties. On the Madeleine at the moment, so classic ground. Arkea were only left in charge whilst the big boys were having their lunch, so now. (checks calendar) as per Agreement 2020-478/1 Section 1 Paragraph 3, Jumbo-Visma have taken back over.
  7. Doh! Almost started a war there.
  8. I’m afraid your answer just shows how corrupt modern politics is. She got her start in politics by sleeping with her boss who appointed her to two jobs with extremely high pay & no work, for which she had no other qualifications. Since both these jobs involved granting permission for businesses to do things, she naturally attracted even more bribe money & political support from the bribe-payers.
  9. Can’t be easy to get much training done in the Vatican. ”Your next check-point is over by the Botticellis!”
  10. Onto the final climb in the Dauphiné. Wout van Aert in the yellow has already peeled off the main group. 15k to go. What day is it today? Oh, an odd-numbered day. Must be Ineos’ turn to lead the climbing. Sure enough! Turning into a kind of Olympic Marathon with taking on J-V take over for the final 2k. And Roglič does it again! Bernal well beaten!
  11. The BBC confirm they’ve got live streaming of the Monaco DL tomorrow night.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/53745076 ....which probably means that it’s on YouTube in some other territories.
  12. English Premiership Rugby Union returns tomorrow. Other European cross-border competitions delayed by the impossibly complex cross-border regulations.
  13. And this time Jumbo-Visma’s chosen winner was George Bennett - amazingly, only the second win of his career at age 30. Hope it’s one of those races where the winner gets his weight in wine.
  14. The second race today, the Gran Piemonte aka Tour de Barolo, goes into the final big loop with 40k togo.
  15. Paris Marathon, rescheduled for 15 November, is off.
  16. J-V’s turn to take charge of the climbing today: Wout van Aert takes the win.
  17. OK, I knew they had changed the rule to prevent Turkey, Bahrein etc signing up a whole teams of promising young Ethiopians & Kenyans. Did not realise they had also abolished the birth nation rule though - as I say Cuba were the only Federation that had used it in about the last 15 years.
  18. This is the reaction I expected.
  19. From the Daily Mail https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8616277/Meet-Joe-Bidens-running-mate-Kamala-Harris.html Brown arranged appointments for Harris on two state boards: California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the Medical Assistance Commission. Together, the appointments paid her about four hundred thousand dollars over five years. He gave her a BMW. She used her connections to join the city's social elite. She joined the board of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and worked on causes like AIDS, appearing in the society pages as galas, fashion shows and posh socialite weddings. In plain English, thanks to her “friendship” with Willie Brown she was able to get her start in politics by getting corrupt, highly-paid no-responsibility jobs in the Democratic Party nomenklatura. This freed her from the need to work at an actual job and devote her life 100% to politics. It also marked her out to corrupt Democratic Party influence-peddlers as someone they needed to get behind.
  20. Errrm.....how did she get her start in politics? Because she was a dedicated public servant or because she was sleeping with the Mayor of San Francisco? Update: I do need to apologize - to you in fact. Someone your age who reads nothing but the leftist media will very likely not ever have heard of that particular story, since the US media & even the BBC go to extraordinary efforts to cover it up. It was common knowledge back in the day - here’s a local SF newspaper story about it from 2003. https://archives.sfweekly.com/sanfrancisco/kamalas-karma/Content?oid=2149429
  21. Nothing says 2020 like a woman who slept her way to the top.
  22. Yeah, that is right. It’s kind of forgotten, but when an international athlete changes country then the birth country has the right to insist on a four-year embargo from World & Olympic Championships*. Nobody ever bothers with it anymore - except . *But not DL etc. Possibly Europeans, I don’t know.
  23. They’ve already got tons! Not as many as , but plenty.
  24. 13:25 in the Heat , 13:17 in the Final.
  25. Really good stuff from Pozzi in the 110h - 13:17 WL.
