  1. The European Cross Country meet from Anatolia, Turkey Anatalya, Turkiye will be on Sunday 8th of December. Quite a few familiar names in action at all levels. Here's a preview. Preview | Ingebrigtsen seeking glorious end to adventurous year at Antalya 2024 | European Athletics And here's the full official Start List - completed about a week, so there may be changes since. EXCH2024 - FE - Athletes List By Event.pdf And the default TV coverage is FTA on European Athletics website = you'll need registration and usually a browser that does not have adblocking by default. 2. Just a reminder that default TV coverage - ie assuming no TV stations in your country are picking it up - is on Eurovision Sports Aquatics. Eurovision Sport | Aquatics
  3. So new system produces exciting v v battle!
  4. Remco Evenepoel in training run crash in https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/articles/cqx8r08wwr2o
  5. The first of the BBC's Awards will be decided by public vote - World Sports Star. You have to be to vote, though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/cvgkxr5y15do
  6. Mont Tremblant is already cancelled, so you have got a couple of hours back.
  7. Eurovision Sports have it at least. Would only be geoblocked if Polish TV exercise their rights. Eurovision Sport | Aquatics
  8. Was that a PB for Zoe Backstedt In the Dublin Cyclo-Cross World Cup last weekend? Winner in the U-23 sub-section, and third in the overall.
  9. Just going into the single biggest non-Olympic sporting week of the year for Winter Sports fans. Full programme in pretty much every single Winter Olympic discipline except long-track skating and snowboard cross. In this context, the cancelled women's alpine events in Mont Tremblant come as pretty much a relief. Plus two track Champions League, Cyclo-Cross World cup and the European Cross-Country Championships as well. And I guess early days in NCAA basketball and tons of ice hockey, not to mention the usual football.
  10. Well, that is my thinking. If it just goes on WRs he is going to win every year for a decade or more.
  11. Worth seeing, if only for some of the bizarre trans-national lineups. OK, / makes a lot of sense, but / & / were international sporting firsts.
  12. Details of the new seeding system for the Interval Start events. Because your commentators are bound to misunderstand. https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/bi47-new-seeding-system-explained/7a4Bytq5SDgYbpmrQkHhsb
  13. Was going to write the same thing - unless it is all to keep us on our toes with our mental arithmetic. Did seem to be working for the mixed relays though. Anyway, back to Proper Team Relays next week.
  14. Watched the mass start on Sunday & it just didn't work. Runners starting from the fourth or fifth row back (ie everyone in places 20-70) were losing time through no fault of their own - just not enough room on the piste for 70+ starters. So OK for an experiment, but not for real meaningful competition.
  15. I guess they will at some point want to include cross country, mountain running etc. WA are already trying to build up the profile of CC.
  16. World Athletics announce the World Athletes of the Year. Big awards go to Letsile Tebogo and to Sifan Hassan. Women’s World Athlete of the Year: Sifan Hassan (NED) Men’s World Athlete of the Year: Letsile Tebogo (BOT) Women’s track: Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (USA) Women’s field: Yaroslava Mahuchikh (UKR) Women’s out of stadium: Sifan Hassan (NED) Men’s track: Letsile Tebogo (BOT) Men’s field: Mondo Duplantis (SWE) Men’s out of stadium: Tamirat Tola (ETH) Women’s Rising Star: Sembo Almayew (ETH) Men’s Rising Star: Mattia Furlani (ITA) Seems a bit strange to me - OK, there is a case for Tebogo over Duplantis who can basically win every year, but for me Manuchikh beating an almost 30 year old WR beats winning Olympic Marathon Gold. Hassan and Tebogo named World Athletes of the Year | World Athletics
  17. Doesn't matter if Shiffrin is there or not, it's still a last minute defeat for Wendy Holdener.
  18. Two big results this weekend. Mia Brookes got her first World Cup Gold - she has already been World Champion - in the snowboard Big Air in Beijing. Plenty of silver and bronze, but that's the first Gold. 'I didn't plan on winning!' - Great Britain's Mia Brookes wins big air gold - BBC Sport And a 16th place for Cross Country skier Joe Davies in the 20km Freestyle in Ruka this morning. Joe had done a few WCs before, but was mostly on the NCAA circuit this last couple of years. So that's a great result for him.
  19. Don't know what team it was, but someone stopped before she was lapped - just at the foot of the massive lung-busting climb.
  20. Aww too bad 42/40 so only the cheap champagne for dinner.
  21. Wow on 30/30 so far.....I think 41/40 is the record, men & women both did it.
  22. It's not too serious according to the lady herself. Mikaela Shiffrin: Giant slalom crash scuppers bid for 100th World Cup victory - BBC Sport
  23. Must have been a tactical move to save energy. She knew she had better downhill skis.
