    Was too much for Pinot in the end, got the gap down to 10 secs - well, dodgy GPS timings anyway - but Martinez fought back.

    Epic drama in the Dauphiné - the two Martinez & Lopez battling it out with Pinot for the overall...Pinot getting lots of help from French riders on other teams, some big favours being called in. Meanwhile Seb Kuss is going for the stage.

    Tour de Wallonie is sponsored by the local tourist board, so we are getting more chateaux than cycling at the moment. Heading towards a city-centre bunch sprint in heavy rain.... Long, straight & wide last km, fortunately. All went down safely, Caleb Ewan takes the sprint.

    Young rider Leonard Kämna takes the win in a crash-affected Dauphiné today, after getting into the day’s breakaway & then attacking on the final climb up to Megève airport. Roglič was in the crash earlier, but safely home now.

    Should also have mentioned the Aussie Ron Clarke, who was famous for completely the opposite. He broke many World Records during the 60s - 17 according to Wikipedia - but never won a major Gold.

    Unbelievable! Obviously the influence of the green lights which showed him where he was at every moment. And massive respect to the lapped runner who got out of the way - so few lapped runners do that anymore!

    Well done both of them, must have had to do a Q14 somewhere. Incidentally, everyone is preparing in the infield which keeps the meet fast, but kills off the Jav, Discus & Hammer. Let’s hope no-one gets ideas....

    Utterly great, there is a WR there! Usually the last 80m of a 400h is a struggle for survival, but he was cruising.
