  1. It’s a very old record & is now a long way behind most other continents, so good luck. Kids, Mondo Duplantis is not going to be able to read your signs if you write them in Swedish..... 6.01 WL. Very impressive from Laura Muir! Duplantis going for 6.15, but it’s very windy....
  2. Del Ponte wins again, must be disappointed there’s no 4x100s so far this year. I guess Lausanne will put one on.
  3. It’s the ER, second best ever. Wikipedia page has already updated!
  4. Wow, Warholm 46:87 after clipping the last hurdle..... Miles ahead of the field!
  5. Stockholm live strøm here.
  6. Horrible day for Jesus Herrada - was fighting it out with Luis Leon Sanchez for the Spanish title, but dropped his chain on the cobbles with 200m to go.....would have had Silver for sure, but ended up walking has bike over the line down about 15th or so.
  7. French, Italian & Spanish National Championship Cycling races. Stockholm Diamond League (in spite of Long Jump stupidity)
  8. Looks like I was wrong & the Germans are taking #dcro’s robust approach. Three pop concerts are being staged on one day in Germany to enable scientists to investigate the risks of such mass indoor events during the pandemic. It’s German pop, so nobody cares what happens to the musicians anyway. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53875370
  9. Caught up with Blink Biathlon from 2 weeks ago. The YT vid is very confusing because it’s mixed up with CC skiing but it’s all there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz3Abb7GveI 00:37:00- Women’s Super Sprint 01:04:00- Men’s Super Sprint 02:18:00 - Women’s Pursuit 03:07:00- Men’s Pursuit
  10. Dunno what any of it means, but there’s more Norwegian summer cross-country racing this weekend. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE3RWD8MDZ5_5P8v-6G05RA
  11. Chouette! Here’s the link. https://www.youtube.com/user/ifscchannel
  12. There’s different tests & they don’t 100% overlap. Think that’s a bit more likely than a corrupt pro-Faroese conspiracy at the heart of UEFA, Inspector.
  13. I know some of you don’t like TV directors who dwell on injuries, but this clip has an important lesson for all those who go to ball parks. https://www.mlb.com/athletics/news/foul-ball-hits-teddy-bear-in-a-s-stands
  14. Just caught up with the final event. Very proud of Mellow Yellow, after a terrible season they were up & challenging all race and finally climbed off last to 14th place. Close season will be a difficult time with fans & sponsors insisting on big changes from the team management.
  15. Yeah, I’m sure I have seen this before. They’re an amateur club, probably spread over 50 islands, so won’t turn down the chance for a training session.
  16. Welsh League did not always exist: was only set up in 1992. Once it was set up, teams had to calculate based in their history, fanbase etc whether it was better to be in one or the other system. Some clubs that had only ever been in regional Leagues in England transferred to the Welsh League, but the big names - Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham - obviously preferred to stay in the FA.
  17. Damn, geo-blocked! Is there perhaps some legal formality whereby one team must appear at the appointed time, and the other team must not before a walkover is awarded?
  18. So that goes down as a 0-3 loss I think. Unless they cancel the second leg as well.
  19. Small question of medical ethics there, though.
  20. Long-term British National coach Jurgen Gröbler steps down. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rowing/53852817 Had a tremendous record of success since 1991 - 33 Olympic Gold medals. Had also many medals with the old teams.
  21. Stockholm preview. Unfortunately they’ve gone back to stupid stunts in some events. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/53849431
  22. Most of the Men’s 200m double up - Mike Rogers will be freshest. Lyles does the double.
  23. Very strong women’s 200m in Oooh, Lordy, Viktoria Tkachuk Lynna Irby takes it in 22.56.
  24. Hungarian long-jumper Nguyen benefits from a home judge on the LJ board....
  25. One small exception is Scotland, where one English team plays - Berwick Rangers - who are about 70km from the nearest other English team. I think there’s also N.Irish teams playing in the Irish system. But obviously all this is because the four British systems existed long before any other organistion.
