Well, as usual, big names off together in the breakaway after the climb sprinters teams a minute back, probably not strong enough to pull it together. Looking like another win for AMvV.

La Course underway. Everyone taking it easy so far. Climb is harder than it looks on paper, goes on for a long time. Can see the sprinters’ teams struggling to get the break back.

Because two weeks ago they thought they were going to win easily. Now that momentum has changed to Pres Trump they are panicking. So I am thinking MO for Pres, some key white swing-state guy for VP, & Kamala Harris gets the promise of an important high-profile Cabinet job to position her for next time.

I used to live in Borneo in the 60s & 70s and they sprayed all ditches - there were a lot, it’s very rainy - every week. It was very effective, malaria almost disappeared. Probably some bad health issues for the guys that did that job, though! Agree about the long-term evolutionary battle, but if they started, or restarted, spraying in Africa they would easily get twenty years of improvement, which is a lot of saved lives.

Agree that those would be the rulebook candidates, but if the Democrats are desperate enough they will tear up the rulebook & everyone will be bribed into silence.
