  1. My vacation unfortunately ends the week of the opening ceremony so I will have problems to watch events in the 2 "full" weeks.
  2. Who's gonna score the goals? Vietto? Gio? Also our best defender is Cuesta, that says it all (i'm Independiente fan).
  3. And we have a team: GK: Geronimo Rulli (Real Sociedad/ESP), Axel Werner (Atlético Rafaela/ARG) DF: Jose Luis Gomez (Lanus/ARG), Lautaro Gianetti (Velez/ARG), Leandro Vega (River/ARG), Lisandro Magallan (Boca Juniors/ARG), Alexis Soto (Banfield/ARG), Victor Cuesta (Independiente/ARG) MF: Manuel Lanzini (West Ham/ENG), Lucas Romero (Cruzeiro/BRA), Santiago Ascacibar (Estudiantes/ARG), Mauricio Martínez (Rosario Central/ARG), Giovani Lo Celso (Rosario Central/ARG), Joaquin Correa (Sampdoria/ITA) FW: Angel Correa (Atlético de Madrid/ESP), Luciano Vietto (Atlético de Madrid/ESP), Giovanni Simeone (River Plate/ARG), Cristian Espinoza (Huracán/ARG) Pathetic team it has only 2 overage players (Rulli and Cuesta) because we couldn't even call a third. For instance we'll be missing our best three (!) U23 centre forwards no Dybala, Icardi or Calleri. Combined with a shitty coach (he coached our women's team last years with disastrous results ) this will result in a quick first round exit.
  4. I guess he means lists of medal candidates in each event of athletics, swimming, etc, for prediction contests.
  5. Argentina Men: Juan Manuel Vivaldi (GK), Pedro Ibarra, Juan Ignacio Gilardi, Gonzalo Peillat, Juan Martin Lopez, Matias Rey, Lucas Rey, Ignacio Ortiz, Juan Manuel Saladino, Manuel Brunet, Lucas Rossi, Joaquin Menini, Facundo Callioni, Lucas Vila, Agustin Mazzilli, Matias Paredes This coach was more intelligent What worries me is the high age average of the team (almost all around 30 y.o.), hope they aren't past their peak.
  6. ^ I'd upgrade to gold: Queiroz, Larissa-Talita, Football, 1 boxer, Miranda and Menezes. And exchange Men's for Women's Vball team. Total 11 gold. Believe me, this always happens with host nations. Also I'd add as either silver or bronze Shooting pistol and one Swimming pool medal (don't know exactly who, but one will come for sure). And Ditch from the list Taekwondo.
  7. Well, we have a coach for the team at least: Jorge Olarticoechea (the current interim U20 coach) will take over the team. Now we need the players... for that we need the stupid club presidents to finally sit down, have a talk and be able to agree at least on this very very little thing. The team will suck without most of the european players, but at this point just getting any 18 players together will be an achievement.
  8. You forgot Ibarguen. IMO Colombia (barring always possible accidents) should win 3/4 golds. It's highly unlikely ARG, MEX or VEN win that number of gold so, I think that "objective" is safe.
  9. Breaking news: Martino resigned. Increase that chance of withdrawal to 70%
  10. But it is what it is, there's not enough players to make 18. Out of the 35-man large list, currently there are only 6 players released. Everyone else said "no", especially european clubs, we could get only three players released from them (Rulli from R. Sociedad, A. Correa from Atlético and J. Correa from Sampdoria). I think at the end an agreement will be done, at least with the argentine clubs.
  11. President of the argentine NOC: "there is a 50% chance we will have to withdraw from the olympic football tournament due to lack of players" Also Martino may present his resignation due to this situation. Even the argentine clubs are denying players to the NT!
  12. 13. For second consecutive games we are the only team that takes two goalkeepers into the final list our coaches are very stupid. Again we'll be at disadvantage with a short bench. At least Australia decided to help us by making the huge mistake of leaving Flanagan out...
  14. I still want to know if the medal ceremony music is known already or not.
  15. Yes, but the team should erase the last 5 quarters they played in this tournament from their minds (the 4th vs India and all vs NZL) and never, never again remember them

  17. It's the same in every tournament this year for del potro, win one tough opponent then lose the next to average player. super disappointing. .
  18. Bulgaria-Australia to decide who stays. I hope Bulgaria wins, Australia doesn't belong to first division.
  19. Sebastian Crismanich announced retirement. Good luck and thanks for everything you did, Sebastian.
  20. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I hope someone prevents another Murray GS.

  22. Del Potro has great chance for SF now. But I predict he will lose in R16.
  23. Window for suggestions is now closed. Thank you for your cooperation! Selection process will start today and in a few days the contest will be open.
  24. no, Portugal is exceptionally good at frustrating opponents. And Belgium (if they pass) is a team that gets frustrated easily. I predict penalties again or Portugal 1-0 win.
