  1. Copa Libertadores Semifinals First Leg Sao Paulo 0 - 2 Atlético Nacional Independiente del Valle 2 - 1 Boca Juniors Second Leg Atlético Nacional 2 - 1 Sao Paulo Boca Juniors 2 - 3 Independiente del Valle Final Independiente del Valle - Atlético Nacional
  3. No. They already said they will just call other players (like it should be). Don't get hopeful, Serbia can't possibly play in Rio being good in World Leagues isn't enough merit. I think Puerto Rico (next best in NORCECA), Germany (next best in Europe) or Bulgaria (next best in Ranking not qualified) would have priority.
  5. Yes, won qualification. I'm sorry, did I make a typo or some grammatical mistake?
  6. If I'm not mistaken except Gensheimer and Groetzki (who were injured) all other players were part of the curious team that won qualification.
  7. FIFA can't do anything because they themselves refuse to put this competition in their calendar, thus clubs have no obligation to release the players. This just about politics and FIFA not wanting anything to remotely rivalize with the World Cup (but of course, they milk the women's tournament all they can to gain popularity for it...)
  8. By the way, there are other ones that could be taken as ambiguous (me being aware of it beforehand) but won't be corrected for several reasons: 8- Netherlands will win more silver medals than any other color.---> it means that NED will more silver medals than Gold or Bronze ones, not that NED will win more silvers than Golds + Bronzes 17- Spain will win more than one medal in all team sports combined. ---> Team Sports = Football, Basketball, Hockey, Handball, Waterpolo, Rugby Sevens, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. That is, all "pure" team sports, that don't have individual variants of them. Naturally, I can't clarify this in the bet because it would make it too long, I'll have to trust the users in this one. 60- The whole Boxing program will result in at least 8 bouts decided before the end of the 3 reglamentary rounds. ---> walkovers DON'T count. only TKO/RSC and such. 65- There will be a crash (between two or more riders) in either the Men's or Women's Final. ---> We consider "crash" a collision between two or more riders. Let's say, if two different riders just fall by themselves -without colliding with any others- then the answer is still "no".
  9. That one was suggested by hckosice, complain to him Got it. Corrected.
  10. Oh, now I see. Yes, you're right it's ambiguous. Obviously it should be interpreted as "all medals in both marathon events will be won by african nations" Also this one suffers from something similar: "80- At least 4 matches, in both the Women's and Men's Tournament, will be decided in a penalty shoot-out." Obviously it means 4 between both tournaments, not 4 in each one, but it could be taken that way. I'll try correct both now. Sorry for the two users that already posted their bets (but anyway vlad will have to edit his post at some point because he used more than double the points available).
  11. Argentina Women's Team Setters: Yael Castiglione, Clarisa Sagardia Opposites: Leticia Boscacci, Lucia Fresco Middle Blockers: Emilce Sosa, Julieta Lazcano, Florencia Busquets Outside Hitters: Yamila Nizetich, Josefina Fernández, Tanya Acosta, Morena Martinez Libero: Tatiana Rizzo
  12. I used to think the same but if you check closely it's not that many quotas gifted due to Brazil being host. The main profit I think was in women's handball and boxing, but most other would have still qualified or at the very least have a 50/50 chance to still do it.
  13. It reminds me to the idiots that complain Messi doesn't sing the anthem when in most events only the intro is played (has no lyrics).
  14. wtf no he was very talented.
  15. Americans really do try hard to make all stereotypes about them true.
  16. Lincoln Red Imps 1 - 0 Celtic FC
  17. I personally think making a goalkeeper the captain at the olympics is a mistake, here's why: During the last friendly tournament in Valencia in match vs Argentina an indian player was shown a yellow card, but the umpires seemed to have problems communicating it (it was really strange match for them) and indian players didn't understood well who was being shown the card and as a result none of them went out of the pitch. 2 or so minutes later the umpires realized that the player was still in the pitch, told him to go out and also showed another yellow to the captain of the team (captain takes responsability for these situations). Sreejesh didn't play that day, Sardar did and was captain. Now imagine if this happens in Rio while India (like all other teams) decided to take only one goalkeeper...
  18. This is another Fred, not the one from the World Cup.
  19. When you thought it was all solved.... Sampdoria sold Joaquin Correa to Sevilla and his new club denies release also Vietto was denied in last days, but good news is that Sao Paulo is close to exit the Libertadores so they will release Jonathan Calleri in time for olympics (and he's better than Vietto). Today was the first training of the team... with only 11 players (but this was expected).
  20. Our official historical record is 199 from London 1948 and that was already surpassed, but some journalists claim our actual record is 213 (from the same games) because athletes of team sports that didn't enter any match were not counted as official participants back in the day (while they would count nowadays). Currently at 212, we still can equal or surpass also that number with 1 or 2 more B marks from Swimming.
  21. Those who use the zika excuse are pathetic. Just say you don't want to go ffs. On the other hand, our chances for a medal are increasing day by day
  22. ^Yet Teddy Riner is just one guy, playing a sport that can be decided with one bad movement. This is a team event of an individual sport, in which several individual performances are counted to make the final score. I see much less room for an upset in the latter.
  23. Rio 2016 Olympic Bet Contest Rio de Janeiro (BRA) - 5 August 2016 - 21 August 2016 is now open. Remember, for this contest there aren't points to earn for General Standings. And please, take a good look at the rules before posting.
