  1. haha yellow card in the first minute for Gianetti. Keep an eye on him, he's possibly the worst center back I've ever seen playing for our NT he will be sent off for sure.
  2. Our anthem is very long, maybe that's the reason. Usually only the intro (which is short and without lyrics) is played, but they went for this weird thing instead...
  3. gosh, this version of our anthem that is being used is terrible. It's like it is in 3x speed, doesn't give anyone time to sing the words.
  4. heywood, we have to talk about your gambling problem.
  5. Fantastic draw for Pareto in the way to semis, thanks god we deserved something today.
  6. Time for my final analysis/prediction (not quite) of argentine perfomance in Rio... @konig Athletics: I predict final for Toledo (Javelin) and Chiaraviglio (Pole Vault). All the others will have average/poor performances (including Lauro, sadly), though we might see some PBs. Basketball: I predict QF. Not much more we can do honestly. Boxing: I think all except Blanc and Martínez will advance to 2nd round. No one is winning a medal though, Melian has AZE/KAZ/UZB in QF and Peralta has Erislandy Savon in QF, so.. nothing. Canoeing: In slalom and the Sprint K-4 I don't expect anything. I think Ruben Rezola will make the final of K-1 200, but don't think he has enough to fight for a medal. Cycling Road: only men's Road Race... not expecting much. MTB: Soto can have a decent race (top 20). BMX: Molina won't do anything, Gaby Diaz can make a decent semi in a good day. Equestrian Jumping: I have a hinch the team can make a top 10, not expecting much in the individual. Fencing: Out in first round again for our only Sabre girl. Hockey: Less than silver will be a disappointment in W. I think this is our one chance to win the gold, if it's not now don't think it will ever will. In Men's this is also our best ever chance to win a medal, but it will be tough. Football: Expecting anything from total disaster to gold. Golf: With all the absenses I seriously think Grillo has a shot at a medal in a good week. Gomez not much chance. Gymnastics Artistic: Expecting nothing from both. Handball: Both teams will lose all games. Judo: Lucenti hasn't a chance. Pareto will win a medal (don't know what color) if she passes to QF, cuz I don't see her losing twice in the same day. Modern Pentathlon: Khokhlova can make top 10, Zapata among last places. Rowing: Final C for both our single sculls. Sad to the see the state of this sport. Rugby Sevens: I think we have a shot at medal, Fiji is the only team we can't beat and luckily we have them in our group. Again, another sport that heavily depends on the day. Sailing: I expect nothing from RS:X and Laser. I expect medal race for: 49er, 49er FX, 470 M and Nacra17. The last 3 have a shot at a medal, I expect at least 1 of them to achieve it. Shooting: I predict Federico Gil will make the final, but will finish 5th or 6th (as usual for him). The others have no chance. Swimming: I predict Grabich will be our big disappointment of this games.... the others can't do much, but I think we'll see a few argentine records. Synch Swimming: Nothing to say. Tennis: All out in first round. Triathlon: Not expecting much. Beach Volleyball: Our girls will pass group, but that's it. Volleyball: Women's team will end with 1-4 record. Men's team is candidate for dark horse. Should be QF at least, then depends which opponent... USA/Italy are beatable in a good day, Brazil/France not so much. Weightlifting: not expecting anything from our girl. Wrestling: Bermudez can maybe win one match.
  7. lol This olympics will be a festival of doping cases in some sports, I'm afraid.
  8. I predict we'll lose or draw today. Not only happy with assembling a shitty squad the coach decided to also field a terrible formation with 2 of our best players (Pavon and Lo Celso) in bench.
  9. Well, only a good draw could have given us a medal in boxing... guess it won't be the case in 2016.
  10. Yeah I was thinking the same, but probably it will amount to nothing and he will be destroyed by whoever comes out from that.
  11. I see our Bantam (our second best boxer) in the same QF bracket as , toasted today is not our day with draws.
  12. I can't even imagine it, as good as he is it's too illogical in his current form.
  13. Meh.... I actually think Delbonis can win.
  14. Hockey still has chance with (women's team doesn't play in day 1) or less likely Football only chance is with (unlikely) For Triathlon, I would be surprised if Flora Duffy isn't flag bearer for

  16. Prediction Contests Are Just-For-Fun Games "There are things that are uncertain for us, things more or less probable, and we seek to compensate for the impossibility of knowing them by determining their different degrees of likelihood. So it was that we owe to the weakness of the human mind one of the most delicate and ingenious of mathematical theories, the science of chance or probability." is now open. Remember to hide your predictions. For any other questions, please contact via PM. Enjoy the Contest!

  18. Because prediction contests have to be opened with a certain pre-determined margin of days that not always matches the amount of time I need to make my own personal predictions. Anyway, I think she's more worried about medal matches predictions, not the first prediction post.

  20. I'm sorry but I'm not that big of an sports ace that I can predict instantly, I too need to take my time to search for past results, etc and this olympics it's worse because I also have many problems to solve per day. You maybe suspect I cheated you in the Copa America contest or something? I predicted USA 0-1 COL and ARG 3-1 CHI, you predicted USA 1-2 COL and ARG 1-0 CHI, so you could have perfectly won if the results had turned out your way (this can be verified by any administrator). If you don't trust me, then ok, If I'm in top position of some contest I will be the first to predict medal matches.
  21. That's fantastic then, no Africa. What are the european chances of making that competition?
  22. My proposal for Baseball/Softball qualification: Japan 1 Asia 1 Oceania 1 Europe + Africa 2 Pan American The ideal thing would be to just qualify the best 5 from world championships though.
