Yeah, 2-4 is the most likely scenario, with women's hockey being a lock and men's rugby as the next most probably podium, but not a given thing. Then football is the biggest potential medal, but the team could crash big time and wouldn't surprise me at all. Then is the Nacra 17 boat with a good chance to fight for a minor medal. There are other teams/athletes that have the background or potential to medal if the planets align (men's hockey, men's volley, Lucas Guzmán in taekwondo, Fede Gil in skeet, men's doubles in tennis, Torres in BMX Freestyle), but I don't think it'll happen tbh, hope to be wrong, though.

Well, it's a long list of athletes I'd like to do well. If I'd have to choose a top 5, on the top of my head: 🇪🇸 Carolina Marin winning another gold medal in badminton. 🇸🇮 Tadej Pogacar winning the road race. 🇺🇲 Katie Ledecky doing a 4 peat in the 800 and tying Latynina's gold medal record. 🇨🇺 Mijain Lopez winning another gold medal to challenge Milo of Croton 🤓 🇵🇱 Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic gold in tennis singles and 🇪🇸 Nadal-Alcaraz in doubles. In athletics, cheering for Eliza McCartney, Femke Bol, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Eva Swoboda, Andre de Grasse, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Nicola Olyslagers, Sam Kendricks... To name a few. In other sports, athletes like Lisa Carrington, Daria Bilodid, Sarah Sjostrom, Simona Quadarella, Kristof Milak, Kate Douglass and many others that I don't remember now 😋 And of course the latin american athletes and mostly the south american ones.

Well, it's a GS champion against a GS finalist, so not that random per se, even if both lack stardom. Krejcikova always seemed to be favoured to do something good in Wimbledon with her gamestyle, but has been inconsistent and derailed by injuries that this run is a bit surprising. I like Paolini and she reminds me a bit of Simona Halep's big summer in 2014, but Krejcikova should get this.

Who will be the star of the Games? On paper, Marchand and McIntosh look the ones with higher roofs, but both will face tough competition outside their best events and have fewer chances to add medals on relays. Then there are the americans, but there is no clear choice as was the case with Phelps in the past or even Dressel in 2021. And with the aussies, one of them (Mckeown, Titmus, O'Callaghan) would have to run the table of their individual events and in WR fashion. Not an easy task. I would pick Mollie, as she has a big chance to win 6 medals (with two relay golds almost guaranteed), although only two in individual events. But if she sweeps the 100-200 and with a WR, she gets the crown for me.

I'd say talent wise the 🇦🇷 team is weaker than the gold medal ones and the 96 silver medal team too, but stronger than the 2016 and 2021 teams. The squad is unbalanced imo, though, as it lacks defensive midfielders and is too attack focused. Also there are still doubts about Mascherano and his coaching skills. Still, with the individual talent there is we should fight for the top place, but wouldn't be surprised if the team fails and doesn't get to the podium.

Non existent, as all the sports hype is with the football team at the Copa America. But after it finishes and the Olympics approach it will probably pick up, especially with the team sports with good chances for medals and football in there, which will get some extra attention. Not as big as local football, but still.

The first realistic shot and most likely also is day 1 with men's rugby. The best day should be (and I hope) the 9th of august, with the finals of women's hockey, men's football and the bronze medal match of men's volleyball.
