  1. Nah, these allegations are from the last year and her GS wins are from 2018-2019. Not a coincidence that all this happened after she joined team Mouratoglou, who has been very active in her defense since her second charge.
  2. Talking about young freestyle talents, anyone knows what happened to Franko Grgic?
  4. About Dressels comeback, not much to say. He did decent times in the 100 FL and 50 FR, not so much in the 100 FR. But real test will be trials if he decides to swim.
  6. This was Sabalenkas best chance to beat Iga on clay IMO. The conditions suit her game better. Rome and Paris will be a differerent story. The battle for #1 will be interesting if Iga fails, though.
  7. It hasn't been mentioned, but Caeleb Dressel will race again next weekend in the Atlanta Classic. It seems he will compete at trials. McIntosh and Ledecky also in the entry lists, although not in the same races. Mare Nostrum starts the same weekend (with some argentinian swimmers ), so interesting days ahead.
  9. Day 2 of Argentina Nationals saw no OQTs or "A" marks for Fukuoka, but the highlight was again 15yo Hein (whose birthday was only 3 days ago). She swam a 4:47.39 in the 400 IM to break the 14/15 age group record, but it's also a faster time than the 16-18 age national record that belongs to olympic bronze medallist Georgina Bardach from 2001. Cool. A few minutes later, she swam a 2:02.48 in the 200 FR and was just 0.25s shy of the 14-15 that belongs to former junior world champion and YOG medallist Delfina Pignatiello. 18yo Ulises Saravia also had a big swim with a 54.73 national junior record in the 100 BK. BTW, Bardachs 4:37.51 from the Athens olympics is still the south american record in the 400 IM. What a race that was.
  10. Argentina Nationals started today. I don't expect any OQT this week, but on the first night Macarena Ceballos was really close with a big PB in the 100m BR (1:07.29), just shy of the national record from Julia Sebastian (1:06.98) and the OQT (1:06.79). It's the only "A" time for Fukuoka today too. Other interesting time: 15yo Agostina Hein set an age group record in the 800FR (8:38.89).
  11. Congratulations already to Vingegaard for winning another Tour de France
  12. Swimmers Kirpichnikova and Nikolaev want to switch to France and Australia. https://m.sports.ru/aquatics/1115076548-chempionka-evropy-po-plavaniyu-kirpichnikova-i-serebryanyj-prizer-chr-.html
  13. The time gap is a bit surprising, but Chikunova breaking a WR in the 200 not so much. She was already beating Efimova at trials as a 14yo when Yulia was a world champion an missed a medal in Tokyo by nothing. So the trajectory was there. Given that this meet is kinda a worlds meet for russians, and most WRs are broken at local meets these days... Obviously, we'll see if/when this record is ratified by WA.
  14. She had to play 6 points to win the match
No sé si llegarán.
  16. Time trials at official meets count just like regular races.
  17. This one was a bit more expected, she was getting close and it was a matter of time. Let's see the 200 FR tomorrow, don't think she'll break it but a 1:53... Is quite likely.
  18. Mindbowing, given the lack of competition and time of the year especially. Although Titmus broke the WR at trials, maybe lack of pressure also works in favour? A swim for the ages still. Let's see how Titmus answers, but Summer is the one to beat in the 400 FR now. Also, Katinka's 400 IM is in danger now. And I want to see hee 200 FL.
  19. Don't know about the women's 400 IM. It's on the last day and McIntosh will be tired, her best chance to attack that record will be on the trials if she is a bit rested. The other ones are hit or miss, I think only the 400FR will fall, maybe the 50BR. On the men's side, Phelps record in the 400IM seems gone unless something happens to Marchand. The 200 IM I think will be a little tougher. The other one than can fall is the 200 BR.
  20. Marchand killing it in NCAAs. Phelps record in the 400 IM will fall this year at this pace.
  21. Funny coincidence. Ledecky breaks her 1650 FR american record in 15:01 and 13yo Luka Mijatovic breaks the NAG in the same in the event and same day with a 15:00.
  22. I didn't say they shouldn't have opinions. I say I don't get it. It goes against the basic principle of competition that is the nature of sport. But to each his own.
