Hmm the same for us (Czechia). Probably will concentrate on Mixed relays first and hope to qualify in first day.

And next days in other relays in reperage.

I would say "never give up on them" ...... The world relays are still more than 3 months out, we don't know the draws yet. Sometimes, one heat might be with 1 strong team and other 4 teams with similar performance expectations to fight for the second Olympic spot. Lately, we haven't had much chances and opportunities in relays as we did not make it to major events. Now, in my opinion, strongest chances are for mixed 4x400 and female 4x400 with a strong young generation. Middle chances for male 4x100 and 4x400 and minor chances for female 4x100. But for past more than 10 years I finally see bigger chances in several relays. My guess is that :CZE will qualify 3 relays to Paris.

  2. So :CZE Tomas Machac started in doubles with 0 points in the world ranking before the Australian open. Paired up with :CHN Zhang Zhizhen and they already made it to semifinals. From 0 to 720 points and quick improve from nothing to about 120th place. And if they make it to the final, he will appx. gain Doubles positions around 60-70, a spot where is ranked in singles. This is really impressive. I think this connection will last....

:CZE Linda Noskova beats :POL Iga Świątek in three sets so Zheng Qinwen might well make the GS final now. Top half has completely collapsed.

Linda did not seem to me at the beginning like she could defeat IGA. But she played quite smart tennis. Sometimes conservative and sometimes aggressive. Never shew her temper or anger. I was so surprised by what kind of tactics she followed. I would not give up on her. Yeah, Elina is a tough opponent. I would say it is hard for anyone to defeat her. But so it is with Iga. Let's see what other rounds will bring us 😉

Maybe he is trying to get his doubles ranking up so he can play mixed with his girlfriend, who is certainly not a bad doubles player herself (Siniakova)

Indeed. I would not be surprised if they were aiming for mixed doubles in Paris. They wanted to play in Tokyo but Tomas was low in ranking so they did not make a cut. Now, he is going higher in singles, also in doubles. So I guess they will play there.

Ever since late September, I’ve been kind of slacking with updating all the various athletics qualifications. It’s a lot of work, and well I got tired of doing it. @Cinnamon Bun is it possible if you can help me update all the marathons since then, and @Mateus Nagime all the various track/field events?

I could help out if needed. Got more free time these days so I could take care of track and field competitions. Always been my passion ☺️

  9. For those who are travelling to Paris. It has always been a great activity to select a free day and take an Olympic House Tour or just visit some during the games at any time. In the Olympic Houses we can meet athletes, experience the country's customs, food, alcohol, history, sports etc. Let's share here information about Olympic Houses. I suppose there might be around 40 Olympic Houses as for the first time in the history should be Polish Olympic House and maybe even China Olympic House. I will keep one post pinned to the top with information about each country's Olympic house, especially address, entrance fee and other important information.

I am not convinced whether POL will have "many" medals in Paris lol

Anyway, all the hype on Iga Świątek (and Hubert Hurkacz playing mixed doubles with her) will be enormous, i hope they can live with it. No wonder POL Olymp. Committee chose to do their house near Roland Garros...

PS1. It is a pity Pilsner Urquell withdrew but i understand very well what they stand for here. I say it is a pity because this is by far my fav Czech beer if we talk about this big companies' beers...

PS2. Going through the Olympic houses in Paris will be great way to spend your time between sessions you have tickets for. It's like visiting EXPO pavillons. When you are there you just want to see them all and compare... Btw, my wife said Czech EXPO pavillon in Dubai was one of the best, and obviously everyone was having a glass of beer there... :-) so it looks like you just know how to do these pavillons/houses heh.

Thanks. Well, I think Iga and Hubert will be the highest candidates for gold in mixed doubles. No doubt about that. I am honestly hoping for a medal of Czech couple Kateřina Siniakova and Tomas Machac. They have been dating for quite some time, Machac is now we'll placed in ranking so I think will qualify and they will surely have their chances.

Thanks for praising Pilsner. Honestly, it's the best beer I have ever drank 😉

Olympics in Paris will be great. Can't wait to be there. And of course, Olympic house tour is really a nice thing to do. :-)

Maybe some other time, we may meet up at one edition of the Olympic Games. Maybe also with some other members, we should gather up in Paris and have a beer 🍺🍺

Fun fact: Polish Olympic Commitee said that they look at Czech Olympic Houses as a good example and a model, they want to do sth similar because they find Czech Houses very successful. I think they mentioned Pyeongchang.

So POL wants to do at least sth as good in Paris as a Czech House. But we need to find some other ways to promote ourselves than selling out a good beer, there's no way we'll beat the Czechs in a beer competition... :-)

Well, Pilsner Urquell withdrew from Paris due to IOC supporting Russian athletes but I still I think it will be fabulous. The Czech houses in London and Pyeongchang were amazing. I think there will be more than in London. I am happy to visit Polish house. You guys have usually many medalists so no wonder the Polish house will be there :-) ..... My guess is that there will be something like 30-40 Olympic houses. I guess now demand is much higher than in London and they will be visited places but fans from all across the globe.

Happy 200 days to go. If anyone is interested in the Netherlands (TeamNL) house, they are taking pre-registration now:

    https://teamnl.org/huis

That's nice. I got my 9 Olympic tickets, so happy. And I will surely do Olympic House tour just like I did in London, Sochi and Pyeongchang. Does anybody have any info of other Olympic houses? Which country will have an Olympic house opened to public and where it will be located? Share some links. Thanks

I think you guys are forgetting about this

Thanks bro. I know about the qualification tracker. Worry not. What I am curious about are the World ranking points and start making some evaluations who and how may qualify based on the world ranking but not on qualifying by the Olympic limit. That is why I am rather waiting as hell for the Road to Paris Olympic ranking. For us, nearly impossible to do the counting of all the athletes ......
