  1. Russia will compete under a neutral flag as "Olympics athletes of Russia" What a joke.
  2. did not finish first race. finished 31 seconds back of winner She is a good skier, so I hope she can turn it around skiers started qualifications, and their FIS points are above 300... unlikely to compete in PyeongChang
  3. She would need to finish relatively close to them. I would go for the "easier" field
  4. The exotic countries for the sport. Like Turkey, Serbia etc.
  5. I don't think the IOC will ban Russia. They don;t have the guts to do it --- Also skier will start next weekend to get below 300.
  6. Looks like a DQ http://live.isuresults.eu/2017-2018/worldcup/wc1_6000.htm
  7. Update on qualification situation: 83 nations have officially qualified at least one athlete. I have not included either or as neither have any eligible athletes. has also not registered their figure skating pairs meaning they have 0 athletes qualified as well. These nations will likely qualify (or will) by the end of the qualification period: India (men's luge) Nigeria (women's bobsleigh and skeleton) Tonga (cross country skiing, thanks to "Project Bogota"). Moldova (alpine skiing, cross country skiing, men's luge) Chinese Taipei (speed skating, 3 athletes) Philippines (alpine skiing, their athlete will start later this month to qualify and has the level). These nations have some work to do to qualify: Algeria (Men's snowboard slopestyle, just got his top 30 performance today) Venezuela (alpine skiing) Paraguay (alpine skiing, same athlete competed in 2014, but different sport) Hong Kong (they have a couple of alpine skiiers who need more results under 140 points to qualify, but their level is all over the place). Ghana (men's skeleton, with the new system from the IBSF he is just outside qualification). Virgin Islands (women's skeleton). These nations have athletes competing, but unlikely to qualify. Barados (Freestyle slopestyle) Sri Lanka (Cross country skiing) Jordan (alpine skiing) Nepal (cross- country skiing, their athlete is around the 400 point level and doesn't look like that will change). Trinidad and Tobago (cross- country skiing, their athlete is around the 400 point level and doesn't look like that will change). Unknown and unlikely: Dominican Republic (recently the FIS uploaded a bio on an alpine skier) Tajikistan (their alpine skiers have not competed this year and unlikely to qualify). Afghanistan (their alpine skiers have not competed this year and unlikely to qualify) Will not qualify as their athletes compete in sports that have finished qualification: Indonesia My guess is the 83 nations (minus Puerto Rico who will decline) + first set of nations above + Venezuela, Paraguay and Hong Kong will qualify. Meaning 91 nations will compete in PyeongChang. However, that amount can go higher...
  8. I am sure the IOC won't block his participation if he qualifies, after all Jordan didn't even have a FIS NF until recently. Also for the 2017 Asian Winter Games Jordan only registered way after the deadline (approx.2 weeks before the games started) and the OC allowed both of them to compete.
  9. Suhail Azzam will start to compete in China in early December. I wish him the best of luck in qualifying for the Olympics!
  10. Group B is the hardest group imo, three top teams in it, plus Netherlands which is by far the strongest team in pot 6.
  11. hires two former Olympic medalists as coaches: http://mailchi.mp/canoekayak/olympians-anders-gustafsson-and-andreas-dittmer-join-canoe-kayak-canada-coaching-team Hopefully this helps boost Canada's performance on the world stage, after all the canoe discipline is named after the country
  12. will accept men's field hockey and women's rugby sevens for team allocations... (but first they need to qualify). Both teams are defending silver medalists.
  13. 2 more golds stripped from Russia in 2014. 4 of the 9 legit golds were won by 'bought' athletes. Pathetic.
  14. She is already qualified along with her brother Mark.
  15. Good luck to her! Looks like South American nations are moving their roller sports athletes to speed skating. Colombia, Chile and now Argentina. I know there are a couple Brazilians as well but not sure if they are from a roller speed skating bg.
  16. @LDOG @konig Victoria Rodriguez broke Argentina's NR in the 500m (39.80), that time would put her as reserve 3 for Olympic qualification, but she needs to get that time at one of the two world cups. The current cut of right now is 39.53.
