  3. Via Lima 2019 Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games, Clive ‘Tony’ GREYSON (JAM) decided to take up a competitive sport at the age of 45. To make things simpler, he went down the list alphabetically. “I started with athletics and I thought, ‘Well maybe that might be a bit of a challenge to beat Usain BOLT (JAM)’. So then I went to ‘B’ which was bobsleigh. It’s too cold. ‘C’ was canoe, so I thought, ‘OK, I’ll do some canoe’,” he said. "With Lima 2019 behind him, the 51-year-old Olympic hopeful lights up at the mere suggestion he could some day be known as the BOLT of kayaking." Wow.
  4. Wow only one gold from a non-Olympic event for Canada (water ski)
  5. "Only three countries — Brazil, Mexico and Canada — won more total medals than the U.S. haul of golds." Amazing
  6. Now the Santiago 2023 handover ceremony... Nothing can be worse then the handover ceremony from 8 years ago
  7. A total of 55 !! new events were contested here. It seemed like every sport that asked got what they wanted. This is not sustainable, and Santiago 2023 already will have less of a program.
  8. WOW! The closing ceremony media guide has already been publicized! https://www.lima2019.pe/sites/default/files/2019-08/MEDIA-GUIDE-ENGLISH-78.pdf I am surprised they would do that. Speaking from experience, the Toronto 2015 media guides were under embargoes and if caught publishing before the ceremony, you risked losing your accreditation.
  9. Wow and the games are now over in terms of events, what a long two weeks!! What an enjoyably games these were. Too thinking these were not going to happen just a few years ago to a very successful games. Canada finished with 152 medals, 35 gold. Some of the performances were frustrating to watch, but overall I think the performance is good considering the quality of the team. Onward to Santiago 2023 (preceded by Cali 2021 for the inaugural Youth Pan American Games).
  10. 11th* DR just sneaked into 10th
  11. This is why these intercontinental tournaments should be played AFTER the continental round.
  12. 2 2014 Youth Olympians finished on the men's podium
  13. Only 2 karate finals and tiebreak in golf left.
  14. Looks like won double gold in golf
  15. Wow Serena Williams withdraws in set one, allowing Bianca to take the Rogers Cup title on home soil.
  16. Ellie Black will be the closing ceremony flagbearer for
  17. wins men's team gold
  18. At the end of the FIVB and NORCECA would have had to approved it.
  19. Yes. Watching via Claro
  20. I don't think he meant cricket. Its an expression in the English language. When you say "I hear crickets" it means no one is speaking up to a certain opinion/situation.
  21. I think racquetball is good as toast for 2023. I do not see how it survives unfortunately.
  22. Canada up to its 60th silver now...
  23. I dont get why. Toronto 2015 saw them go quickly, they must have had a rule change since then
  24. Why would squash be in danger? Chile is not that bad in the sport?
