I've gone trhough the web compiling the names of athletes already selected/named and those places already obtained and here's the list of how the final entry list might look like. I've already taken out those places already rejected by the Netherlands and Japan; athletes in bold are those who count for the maximum 34 per gender in each discipline (springboard or platform); those in italics have not been oficially confirmed or selected by their NOCS.
Regarding South Korean Haram WOO he obtained individual places in both springboard and platform; I deduce that in orden to maintain the same number of divers in each one, FINA will count him in platform, even though it seems he will enter in both events.

mrv86 reacted to OlympicIRL in Summer Olympic Games 2016 Official Countdown Thread
As we come to the 50 days to go milestone until the Games of the XXXIst Olympiad in Rio, it's time to open our official countdown thread here on Totallympics. Members can post here on the thread day-by-day to help build the excitement in the coming weeks as we countdown to the big event. This thread can be used to mark any milestones on the way, such as the opening of the Olympic village, tracking the arrival of delegations, the raising of our national flags in the Olympic village, news and details about the Opening Ceremony and so on.
To help us countdown the days ahead, I have created an Olympic Countdown Clock, consisting of the numbers 1-50 which represent the 5 Olympic rings. As each day passes, another piece of the Olympic ring is shaded in colour until the 1 day to go milestone, after which the 5 coloured rings will be depicted in their complete form.
Also, it is intended that this thread could be used to post fun facts or trivia about Olympic Games and athletes, past and present, anything users think would be of interest, perhaps even incorporating the number of days to go in their item of trivia: for example, on the 22 days to go milestone, a fun fact might point out that 22 is the number of medals that the most decorated Olympian of all-time, Michael Phelps, has won in his career. I am sure users can be even more creative than me in this aspect .
So without further ado, let the countdown to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games begin

* Some of these athletes who are supposed to get a better medal later tested positive for doping. so I have a feeling IOC/IWF will leave some (or even all) of those medals blank and won't give them to anybody.

Here are some videos of eventing (cross-country) from Berlin Olympics in 1936. This was the first time that water jumps were used so it caused a lot of problems, Though, that particular water jump was craziness.

Meaning that Netherlands now gets the quota (or probably not), after that we have Austria.
Btw, South Africa won't even be send a woman to the World Championships this year in mountain bike, because nobody met the criteria. Chances for someone to get selected for Olympics despite everything should be like zero.

mrv86 got a reaction from vinipereira in Beach Volleyball Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016
Just before the main round of the last tournament that gives points I have come to the following scenario on qualification via ranking:
Women
World Ranking (finish in top 15 secured):
Still to define 2 direct places plus the reallocated host quota due to Brazil already qualifying 2 pairs (the other one from 2015 World Championships). NOC's currently holding those places are (in order): There are 3 pairs from that can overtake them. Here's what the minimum they need to do in the last tournament in order to grab the last spot
UKOLOVA/BIRLOVA: advance to quarterfinals and that Chinese or Argentinian pairs don't advance to the 2nd round of direct elimination.
MATAUATU/PATA: finish in 4th place; Chinese or Argentinian pairs don't advance to the 2nd round of direct elimination; Russian pair doesn't advance to quarterfinals,
LEHTONEN/LAHTI: finish in 3rd place; Chinese or Argentinian pairs don't advance to the 2nd round of direct elimination; Russian pair doesn't advance to quarterfinals; Vanuatu doesn't advance to semifinals.
Men
World Ranking (finish in top 15 secured):
There remain (mathematically) 4 places plus the reallocated host quota due to Brazil already qualifying 2 pairs (the other one from 2015 World Championships). NOC's currently holding those places are (in order): There are 2 pairs from that can overtake them. Here's what the minimum they need to do in the last tournament in order to grab the last spot
VIRGEN/ONTIVEROS: advance to quarterfinals and that either BOCKERMANN/FLUGGEN or ERDMANN/MATYSIK (the German pairs) don't advance to the 2nd round of direct elimination.
BINSTOCK/SCHACHTER: finish in 3rd place; both German pairs don't advance to the 2nd round of direct elimination; Mexican pair doesn't advance to quarterfinals,

Good job by Lithuania this past weekend earning one quota, but at the same time so sad Denmark and Costa Rica fell short of qualifying by 1.50 and 2.50 points in the end
