  1. Japan isn’t as bad of a team as you’re making them out to be.
  2. So if I’m reading this properly, win against Japan and we’re in, lose and we’ll need Spain to beat Hungary? Edit: Yup.
  3. @EselTheDonkey just went over all of the scenarios again, it seems as if I was wrong. Only winning would qualify you for Paris, otherwise you’ll have to wait until Sunday.
  4. lead 48-45 after three periods. Great period by the Canadians, with a 23-9 run. Kayla Alexander with yet another good game with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
  5. I don’t think that’s right, but let’s see.
  6. Actually, there’s still a chance for Ukraine to secure a duet quota. As it turns out, myself, Jur, and Robertino all got the reallocation procedure wrong. Duet quotas from Continental Championships don’t actually go to the third ranked NOC, but rather the next highest ranked NOC at Doha 2024. Therefore, Israel and South Korea grab the Olympic quotas rather than Brazil and Kazakstan. Ukraine is next up in the list if South Africa declines their duet quota.
  7. Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray safely through to the semifinals in men’s 10m platform. Likely enough for Canada to secure a second individual Olympic quota in this event.
  8. Don’t believe anyone has mentioned it here, but Kristof Milak started training a couple weeks ago! https://mandiner.hu/sport/2024/02/a-mandiner-megtudta-ket-hete-vizes-edzeseket-vegez-milak-kristof-olimpia-uszas-kihagyas @dullard @maestro @Topicmaster1010
  9. I feel like our scores are only going to improve come Paris. Artistic Swimming Canada has a new head coach, Anna Voloshyna (10x World Championship medalist) who is expected to start after Worlds. Coincidentally, in her international career she’s also competed with our assistant head coach Yelyzaveta Yakhno (8x World Championship medalist) at the 2017 World Championships, winning two bronze medals together.
  10. Duet athletes have already been announced already with Jacqueline Simoneau and Audrey Lamothe set to represent Team Canada at Paris!
  11. Artistic swimming team qualifies for Paris through the World Aquatic Championships! A nice surprise, after many disappointments earlier on in the meet (I’m still pissed that Vallee couldn’t secure a 3m individual quota and qualify in synchro with Ware) 21st sport qualified in.
  12. Artistic swimming team has qualified for Paris!
  13. Team Olympic Qualification After 3/3 Events: 815.0654 802.6520 797.8430 756.5996 738.8897 685.5122 683.4363 Quotas: 2024 Worlds Duet Quotas: | (United States and Japan’s Continental Quotas are reallocated through Worlds not Continental Championships. South Korea and Israel were the next two highest ranked unqualified nations) @Makedonas @maestro Congrats! If declines their duet quota (hopefully), would be next up for a ticket to Paris.
  14. Unfortunate for One of the Olympic medal favourites shockingly won’t even be at Paris.
  15. No Olympic team quota for us. Horrible World Championships so far for Canada, with missed quota opportunities in diving and open water swimming so far. Women’s water polo team isn’t in a great position either.
  16. Wouldn’t underestimate Serbia even with their loss yesterday, but I tend to agree with most of your list. By the way, Canada is missing a couple of their key players (Kia Nurse and Cassandra Prosper) which might explain why the game was so close. That and we couldn’t hit a single 3 until the fourth period.
  17. Swedish Mixed Doubles World Championships Trials are on soon also. No shortage of talent in the field, could see any of the five teams winning. All matches streamed here: https://m.youtube.com/@SvenskCurling/streams
  18. Think it’s extremely unlikely, but is there any chance that Kate Miller (and to a lesser extent Mia Vallee) grab a quota? Obviously, it’ll take a lot of nations declining their quotas, and for many athletes to double up for that to happen. Right now Vallee is behind Right now Miller is behind
  19. Don’t know where I got Team Edin winning from. As mentioned in another thread, not my best day today. Congrats on advancing to the final by the way
  20. Women’s 3m Springboard Quotas:
