  2. Two more notable results to close out the meet. Grant Holloway with a new WL of 7.32* in the men’s 60m hurdles, and Lamecha Girma with a new WL of 4:51.23 in the men’s 2000m!
  3. Probably a mediocre mark by his standards, but Hugues Fabrice Zango 17.21m for the win in the men’s triple jump
  4. 4.84m WL for Eliza McCartney in women’s pole vault! What a meet this has been.
  5. 49.64 in the women’s 400m for Femke Bol! 4/10ths away from the indoor WR!
  6. Gudaf Tsegay wins the women’s 3000m, with a massive WL of 8:27.11! So close to breaking the indoor WR, only about a half second away.
  7. Alysha Newman with a first attempt clearance at 4.65m in women’s pole vault!
  8. Leonardo Fabbri records a new WL of 22.37m to take the win in men’s shot put at the Meeting Indoor Lieven in Lieven, France!
  9. Canada defeats New Zealand 14-12 to advance to the women’s water polo quarterfinals to face Spain. Not exactly our best game. But our main goalkeeper Gaudreault was resting, so I’m not too worried.
  10. come through 14-12 to advance to the quarterfinals. Not exactly their best match, but slightly excusable as Canada was using their backup goalkeeper Vulpisi, who IMO isn’t half as good as Gaudreault. I’m assuming they didn’t perceive New Zealand to be much of a threat, hence them deciding to give Gaudreault a rest.
  11. Mind you there were only eleven athletes racing, but Marielle Thompson and Brittany Phelan won ski cross gold and silver at the Bakuriani WC!
  12. Bobsleigh WC Sigulda | Sigulda, Latvia I’m late again, forgot this was going on. Women’s Monobob Gold- Lisa Buckwitz (1:47.46) Silver- Andreea Grecu (1:47.73) Bronze- Laura Nolte (1:47.87) Full Results Two-Woman Gold- Kim Kalicki/Leonie Fiebig (1:41.53) Silver- Laura Nolte/Claudia Schussler (1:41.57) Bronze- Lisa Buckwitz/Vanessa Mark (1:41.65) Full Results Two-Woman Gold- Laura Nolte/Neele Schuten (1:41.53) Silver- Kim Kalicki/Anabel Galander (1:41.82) Bronze- Melanie Hasler/Mara Morell (1:42.06) Full Results Two-Man Gold- Adam Ammour/Benedikt Hertl (1:39.33) Silver- Michael Vogt/Sandro Michel (1:39.45) Bronze- Francesco Friedrich/Matthias Sommer (1:39.48) Full Results Someone quote me if I’m wrong, but I believe instead of the usual four-man, two-man, two-woman, women’s monobob they switched the four-man for a second two-woman?
  13. Men’s 10m Platform Quotas: @Adriano
  14. Rylan Wiens advances to the men’s 10m platform at World Championships, securing a second individual Olympic quota for Canada! Although not yet named to the team individually, as the selection meet is the Canadian Olympic Diving Trials in May (?) Wiens and Zsombor-Murray are highly likely to be doing the double.
  15. Ski Cross WC Bakuriani | Bakuriani, Georgia Women Gold- Marielle Thompson Silver- Brittany Phelan Bronze- Marielle Berger Sabbatel Big crash by Talina Gantenbein in the big final, she was limping afterwards. Hopefully it’s not that serious, and she’ll be back racing soon. And if it is, then speedy recovery Men Gold- David Mobaerg Silver- Florian Wilmsmann Bronze- Alex Fiva No chance for our top two athletes tomorrow either, as both Howden and Schmidt bombed out in quailes. Full Results
  16. Marielle! Nice second for Phelan as well.
  17. Ok, but let’s be honest no Canadian male athletes will be qualifying for the mixed team in artistic swimming.
  18. Emailed CBC Sports inquiring about the remaining seven medalists, here’s the full list. Silver: Women’s team (Artistic swimming), Tammara Thibeault (boxing- women’s 75kg), Summer McIntosh (swimming- women’s 400m freestyle), Camryn Rogers (athletics- women’s hammer throw) Bronze: Caeli McKay (women’s 10m platform), Summer McIntosh (women’s 200m individual medley), Catherine Beauchemin Pinard (judo- women’s 63kg) Sorry but a silver in artistic swimming? Don’t see it happening. I’d even give more chances in the duet event. But like @NearPup said, this projection only has McIntosh (a generational talent) only winning two individual golds (certainly is possible, but not my point) so I can’t really take it seriously. It also doesn’t have DeGrasse winning any individual medals, or our women’s 3x3 team medaling. Personally I’d say 7 gold, and around 22-24 medals.
  19. Day 2 Results Soprom, Hungary 55-60 81-75 Antwerp, Belgium 97-66 100-46 and grab the available Paris quotas.
  20. and qualify for the Olympics in Antwerp. Rest of the quotas are still TBD.
  21. Also, while it could happen, I hate when people say “they won’t try because they have nothing to play for” They’re athletes, they want to win. With the Olympics guaranteed, any win would be a momentum booster.
  22. Japan isn’t as bad of a team as you’re making them out to be.
