  1. Some of these changes you guys would make to the Olympic program are making me glad that none of you are IOC members (on the other hand though, I do agree with some of them…) I’ll share my thoughts later.
  2. I’m not European, but from at least from my perspective my complaints come from the lack of internal competitiveness. Africa has many countries capable of challenging in most sports, while for Oceania it’s just Australia and sometimes New Zealand winning quotas, and rarely anyone else
  3. Wouldn’t say quit is the right word. He’s 32, and a couple of months ago his first child was born. Don’t know the exact reason why, but he probably decided to retire to focus on his family.
  4. There goes Michael Andrew’s hopes
  5. D’Artois was 4th at Worlds last year, what are you on about
  6. On to something a bit more… positive I’m be rooting for Rehm, Garcia Falagan (so many major championships 4th’s), Bertrand, Woodhall, Guity, Impellizzari, Alphonse, women’s sitting volleyball team (when not against Canada at least), Barlaam, and Masters Probably missing a couple. Edit: Oh, now also Ishitile
  7. Not very many para-athletes that I’ll be actively cheering against, but well there’s one Petrillo, well is a very controversial figure to say the least. Born a male, will compete in female events at the Paralympics, and well I don’t exactly think it’s fair. Feel bad for all of the actual women that are in the same events, wonder what they would have to say about this?
  8. I’m kind of bored, so over the next few days I’ll be sharing some statistics for most posts by a user in all the various sports threads Edit: Deleted the second one, it’s not going to work for me.
  9. Probably beach volleyball too
  10. As always, after the Olympics there’s a whole batch of retirements. Mijain Lopez (wrestling) Maggie MacNeil (swimming) Natalie Achonwa (basketball) Vinesh Phogat (wrestling) Nino Salukvadze (shooting) Andy Murray (tennis) Portia Woodman-Wickliffe (rugby sevens) Tatjana Smith (swimming) Carissa Moore (surfing) Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (athletics) Ma Long (table tennis) Vivian Kong (fencing) Emma McKeon (swimming) Angelique Kerber (tennis) Perry Baker (rugby sevens) Timo Boll (table tennis) Kellie Harrington (boxing) Mikkel Hansen (handball)
  11. Etta Love is another one in weightlifting. I’ll also add Dylan Bibic.
  12. Men's Volleyball FIVB Nations League 2025 Multi-Stage Event - 11 June 2025 - 3 August 2025 Official Website Programme Results System Facebook Page Discussion Thread
  13. 17 days to go!
  14. Well I don’t follow the progress of the ip and comers, but I’d also add Dylan Bibic and Julia Tunks.
  15. Not really sure there’s a topic that fits what I’m about to say, but do we have any youth stars primed for success that I should keep an eye out for on the road to LA 2028?
  16. Yep, in addition to all of the Netflix movies on my watch-list that’ll get removed from the app soon
  17. Women’s basketball team is always terrible at the Olympics, at this point I’m used to it. Who’s Illyah Kahrun?
  18. Nope, don’t know how that number got there I’d say 5, because a vast majority of the Canadian disappointments came in events that I really wanted medals in.
  19. Judo was also pretty disappointing, besides Deguchi.
  20. Can’t really complain about McIntosh being selected as one of them, given the incredible Olympics she’s had, but I can’t help but feel sad that Black never got her opportunity. No Olympic medals, but an incredible athlete, has all of the values of a person that want to be representing your country, not to mention that this could be her final Olympics.
  21. Ouch, yeah paintball shots do hurt like hell I can say this from experience too, my friends and I went paint-balling a couple of times, and each time we did it shirtless since well… good question. You only live once though, am I right? Never again, my chest and back and aching for days, not to mention all of the welts and bruises. It was fun though.
  22. Waking up at 10:00pm, so two hours before the action started for me, left me with a lot of time to do things before midnight (when the Olympic grind begins) Used it to prepare my snacks and drinks (at least for the first few hours), eat meals and clean up, take a shower, scroll on Totallympics, and get some exercise in.
