  1. Some kind of 'development' events for trans people might be a nice idea. Even just to promote sport among them and make the field strong and big enough to continue the debate on making specific rules for each discipline to make it possible for them to start in main categories. Because still, they should have a right to compete within the strongest field if they meet certain criteria. Also maybe a change in understanding the categories would help, so trans people competing won't be that kind of a taboo. I mean, change "men" and "women" categories to something more inclusive. Like "male-leaning"/" female-leaning". I'm not sure how to call it suitably, but I hope you get the idea. I suppose that would be welcomed by non-binary athletes like Leo Baker.
  2. I think that the rules about trans people competing should be adjusted specifically to each and every discipline. There are plenty of different factors that may affect the performance. And I dare to say, that in some events, ftm people could have some kind of advantage too. Still, there is so little trans participants, that organisations just don't care about making those rules. It seems like IOC made that very vague overall rule sticked to only one factor (testosterone) without any further insight. I suppose they may thought that it won't be an issue in the next 15-20 years. And right now it seems like Hubbard and other trans people fall atls the victims of the situation with all the hatred towards them. I feel kinda sorry for her.
  3. And media do not care to explain that to people. Becuase they of course thrive on controversy... Looking through comments in Polish media today was even more painful and frustrating than usually.
  4. I doubt honestly. Even if he'd use PR I don't think it'd be so high right now
  5. that score page is hella confusing... It does not update results to quickly, is it?
  6. When are kata finals? And what is "round robin" listed at the bottom of a timetable everyday meant to be?
  7. Isn't there a rule that no matter how many athletes qualify via minimum, the next best from ranking qualifies?
  8. I don't think so, France should win. But it won't be easy for them either.
  9. Ah, yes, here we go again. Another qualies, another struggles
  10. So ?? Natan Węgrzycki-Szymczyk will get the men's quota?
  11. Good point, didn't thought about it really. Well, some also say that maybe replacing it with futsal/beach soccer would work. But then there's also Another question – if we're replacing men's football, should we replace women's too? I mean, it would be strange to have the diffrence there.
  12. Definitely weightlifting. I am actually annoyed this shitshow is stillin the program. I don't even believe there are any clear athletes left there. If the Federation can't assure the Competition is fair then why bother at all? I also wouldn't be happy if we'd get medal here, as we would probably get stripped of it in a few years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Second choice would be boxing but that's a case of tearing down all we have (as it's simply a mafia) and rebuilding from scratch. Then comes baseball as it's just pointless without MLB players. But I'd fancy adding men's or co-ed softball in that place honestly. The difficult case is men's football. Like, I feel it'd be ridiculous to not have the world's most popular sport in the Olympic program. But having only u23's is ridiculous too. I know it's beyond a real possibility here, but IOC should have more power in deciding about Olympic sports and should be able to do as much as needed to ensure that the best of the best really compete.
  13. Oh, it may cause that Japanese skaters will miss wch
  14. Does anybody know what are those "adaptive" finals on sunday before the real ones?
  15. Thanks, I couldn't find any info about the semis qalification cut. So it seems like Brodka will be on the edge here, gotta be a nervous last heat that.
  16. Yeah, like, really – the later they would cancel the games, the bigger losts they'd come across. I think it has got through the critical point in march. Qualifiers are going on as planned (more or less, but still – going). High percentage of athletes will be arleady vaxxed before getting to Tokyo. And, come on, most European countries could dream about such numbers that Japan has in peaks in their lows. And the sport is fine here. Bubbles work fine. Through the last year we learned how to have sport events during pandemic safely. And Tokyo prepared many additional rules and stuff to assure the safety. Calling off the games now would be ridiculous. I still kinda fear that, but I don't see a reason for it rn.
  17. Watching Poles at qualies lately just hurts so much
  18. * means that an athlete won't compete in Tokyo. Jordan has no citizenship yet, she just changed Federation allegiance (PZBad accepted this) as surprisingly Poland has better conditions for badminton training than Wales (according to her). That means there will be three reallocations and as my friend who knows much about badminton calculated, it means that Wiktoria Dąbczyńska will get the quota probably. Nothing can be said for sure until official statements from the International federation tho. Edit: typo
  19. Is someone able to enlighten me how these qualifiers work? Especially what I should know from Polish perspective. It seems kinda confusing.
  20. Japan and USA will play in the final surely and I think Canada is most likely to take the bronze
  21. Exactly, that's how I feel
  22. Anyone finds women's wrestling more attractive, more interesting than men's here? This tournament at least, I rarely watch wrestling. Also, damn, it's irritating watching Polish wrestlers lately. I really though Łukasiak will qualify.
  23. What a disaster. From 2nd to 22nd in two days
