  1. As far as I know yes. In Rio there were 2 USA pairs in the top 3
  2. One theory I have now is that Sousa was no longer eligible for European quota, as we were wondering here a few days ago.
  3. Wait, congrats for him but How the hell? He was 145. in the olympic ranking. Did we miss like 15 withdrawals since the lists came out? Or did nobody ranked higher accept the reallocation of Cuevas' quota?
  4. I don't think so, especially in golf. It can be seen that golfists thinking about olympics changed, and also watching golf on-site is neither comfortable nor that important to athletes.
  5. Well, I guess most of them is used to it by this point. It's sad, but it's not a big surprise. But that's definitely a major failure from Japan – as @nenadsaid, it's unbelievable how a country so rich and so developed could basically fuck up vaccinations so much.
  6. Just let's get rid of weightlifting finally. Solves a lot of problems.
  7. Some Swiss girl is out of heptathlon and ?? Adrianna Sułek is in. She posted about rellocation on her insta.
  8. @hckošice someone had to pull out and wikipedia now has Schmiedlova with Continental quota
  9. Oh, ok thanks. Tho I still wonder if they both should get the quota really as european place is for country with no player qualified IIRC
  10. Why are Pedro and Joao Sousa both listed as quelified by continental place?
  11. So Kamil Majchrzak seems to be 3rd in the queue for rellocation
  12. Polish Federation announced that ?? Wieszczek-Kordus replaces ??Jenny Franson who doped in -68
  13. ?? Iga Świątek for sure and I'm not sure if we have any others. Probably yes tho?
  14. He has a trauma after getting a double bagel in Rio
  15. So like 1-2 withdrawals more and ?? Kamil Majchrzak will qualify. Especially if europeans will be the ones to resign.
  16. Everything is political in a democracy. And democracy is people. And athletes are people and thus most of them have some ideas about world they care about.
  17. Some kind of 'development' events for trans people might be a nice idea. Even just to promote sport among them and make the field strong and big enough to continue the debate on making specific rules for each discipline to make it possible for them to start in main categories. Because still, they should have a right to compete within the strongest field if they meet certain criteria. Also maybe a change in understanding the categories would help, so trans people competing won't be that kind of a taboo. I mean, change "men" and "women" categories to something more inclusive. Like "male-leaning"/" female-leaning". I'm not sure how to call it suitably, but I hope you get the idea. I suppose that would be welcomed by non-binary athletes like Leo Baker.
  18. I think that the rules about trans people competing should be adjusted specifically to each and every discipline. There are plenty of different factors that may affect the performance. And I dare to say, that in some events, ftm people could have some kind of advantage too. Still, there is so little trans participants, that organisations just don't care about making those rules. It seems like IOC made that very vague overall rule sticked to only one factor (testosterone) without any further insight. I suppose they may thought that it won't be an issue in the next 15-20 years. And right now it seems like Hubbard and other trans people fall atls the victims of the situation with all the hatred towards them. I feel kinda sorry for her.
  19. And media do not care to explain that to people. Becuase they of course thrive on controversy... Looking through comments in Polish media today was even more painful and frustrating than usually.
  20. I doubt honestly. Even if he'd use PR I don't think it'd be so high right now
  21. that score page is hella confusing... It does not update results to quickly, is it?
  22. When are kata finals? And what is "round robin" listed at the bottom of a timetable everyday meant to be?
  23. Isn't there a rule that no matter how many athletes qualify via minimum, the next best from ranking qualifies?
